Solution to running Blue Shift Windows 7-64
Blue Shift. You do not need to run the Data Execution Prevention settings settings to get the game to work.

It is a matter of the Video Card Nvidia Control Settings, I had to turn off Antialiasing-Mode and set it to application control, and then the Half Life Blue Shift and Opposing Force opened up to it's options and then I set the Game's Video options to my Native Monitors settings widescreen for my Monitor and turn on opengl. Did the same for both games, then I went into my Nvidia Control Panel and set my Antialiasing back to where I had it. Then Blam O it worked every time I started my Half Life Blue Shift and Opposing Force. No need to listen to those that tell you to fool around with your Security Settings, makes your PC unsecure, not needed has nothing to do with the game starting or running it in Compatibility mode.

I could not accept that Steam would rip us off with a game that did not run in Windows 7.
It would not make any sense that they would even sell the game if it was not compatible with out some kind of advisory.

Pay attention to your Video Card Settings before starting your Game, and you will be able to run Both Games without a hitch as long as you PC is healthy.

Was your PC crashing to desktop or something?

I never heard of this problem before, so I installed the game for the first time since upgrading from XP, and I didnt have any problems running it... That is not helpful to say "I dont have the problem"--what I am trying to ask is what your problem actually was. What did it do when it didn't work? Crash? hang? refuse to run in a window?

No not crashing to the Desktop. it would load it's first GUI and then the 2nd Options GUI went blank, just a Black Screen on both Games. Had to hit the Windows Flag key to close the game.

Works perfectly now that I went into the Video Settings and did an application Controlled Antialiasing, so as to be able to get to the Game's Options Screen, set that up and all was good.
