Troika captured lightning in a bottle when they made Bloodlines, and everybody else who's tried a crack at it since then has failed miserably.
They did patch the console versions to be mostly the same as the PC version a few weeks ago. It took them long enough. The console versions were in horrible shape for a long time. I remember the PS4 version at launch crashed on boot for some reason. PC was clearly the priority.
Yeah, at least in Swansong, there are several different points in the game where you can screw up and die.
Not like Coteries of New York, where the only time your character is ever in any kind of actual danger is during the opening courtroom scene. After that, you and the story are railroaded for success.
