I hope they will add the original sect camp "blue, ore made lighting lamps" on the alleys and paths. They were creating a really nice atmosphere and nice color ambiance.
I really wished they would stay true to the source material.
And some design choices in general seem to be quite off when it comes to enemies.
I don't get why every critter has to be looking like some demonic entity. The blodflies for example. Or the scavengers...
In the orignial games they were just big chickens, that could kill you if you provoke them early in the game. Now they look like evil dinosaurs.
I liked the original idea of having a fauna that just lives there, but can get dangerous if we get to close. Now it's monsters everywhere..
On the other hand so far it looks better than I anticipated. Armor, clothing, weapons, physics, etc.. look very good. From the trailer it looks it could still be quite immersive.
But graphics is not my main concern...there is delivery, story, performance, and most importantly how the environment interacts with us playing. The OG games had so much charme and for that time excelled in interaction.
By the end of the month we'll have more gameplay footage, since there is a convention in GER (gamescon), where a demo will be playable. It's going to be interesting. I hope they release it on steam. Maybe for a limited amount of time.
There is also a non-offical G1 UE4 conversion planned and I think already playable. This will be interesting for the community because modding is much easier over there and the original ZenGin is not exactly future proof ;).
I also need Gothic 2 + Night of the Raven as a remake ASAP after the release of this one.
Thank you for this remake. I hope you can release it polished without many bugs.
Looks too good to be true. I thought I would never get a modern Gothic.
