Gothic 1 Remake

1st impresions review
posting this here then going to bed.
1st impressions of the prologue demo really very a lot subject to change

Movement: Atm this is the thing that is gonna bounce the most people off this title in it's current state
My take is they didn't want to go with snap movement to add a bit of realism to movement. fair
However, they didn't mocap a real human making the movements. Instead are tweaking speeds within the
engine. So far this is resulting in a fairly contrived feel that presents as input lag (even though it's not lagging) To combat this I needed 11 beers to match my real response to what my character was doing......this may be a sub-optimal marketing approach for a demographic outside college students

Optimization: it's an early demo so im not gonna say more than it needs a bit of work

Sound....it had it...but with 11 beers it didn't penetrate. I will say it wasn't horrible or I would have remembered it. Voice acting is decent and gets the job done.....and diego is an ass

Since it's an early demo and this is more a feedback deal than a review I'll leave that here as the biggest areas for improvement

Quality of life: Ignore the below section, beer goggles non-functional

lack of save
I get not wanting people just hanging out in a demo for free. I would prefer however, you used a limited time, or limited area to accomplish this.

In an rpg with items, quest lines, physical environment seeing how the save system functions is rather important.
I get nervous when it's not showcased as I fear the save system may get added after a bunch of other systems get added. This is almost always a mistake that causes problem.

Also, right click skips any dialogue.

I agree with this review. One thing I'd like to add is that I could save twice. Last save was just outside the abandoned mine. But no further saves allowed. Combat needs work.
I agree with the review and I add that; I was already sick of the movement, poor performance and overall UE5 ghosting/artifacting; but I stopped playing the moment they put me in a dialogue wiht an NPC I couldn't skip and was forced to ask about his buddies, and what they look like, and what they like to have for dinner... ffs I don't care, Let me skip dialogue.
The author of this thread has indicated that this post answers the original topic.
