The Performance is a joke , right?
I play on 4070ti Super and in other Games i have no Problems but that Gothic Demo.... the preset over Gothic is just a joke, Frames from only 33+ fps ????

on Presett Gothic i get over 100 for sure but all in all the Performance is ja bad joke. You should optimize more

Unreal Engine 5 is huge red flag that your game sucks ass

The thing is. It could be ok if it's properly optimized for different hardware. What makes the UE5 so bad is that the engine (UE5) is being developed fully by the rules under fortnite environment. Another major issues is that the engine flaws are being "fixed" with Nvidia upscalers and AI crap.

Think that Nvidia fake framers are the worst issue here cause it is being seen solution by publishers and corpos alike where they can push out games without proper shader optimization/coding etc. Just mash AI-magic-upscaler on it and call it a day... What could go wrong.

Looks like the game could use some optimizations.
And, by the way, the movement animations need a little love as well ;)

Anyway, it felt like coming home somehow.
Did you ever restart the game? Maybe it was also a special setting that skyrocketed my FPS. x)

Unreal is a movie engine now. They treat the "game" engine part as second class citizens. That's why its huge red flag for UE5 games. They care more about movie cinematic than gameplay. FFS the game doesnt even let you rebind keys. No care for gameplay, just want to push graphics.

extremly bad optimization, rubber controls, but good music and good vibes/characters
When a demo is released to the public, you really expect more than what is shown. One expects at least that the performance is halfway okay. It still doesn't convince me. I think they didn't do themselves any favors with the "demo". If there are no great optimizations, what will be needed in the final product: FG or MFG? Lets not hope for that. DLSS + FG+MFG are actually a good thing, but it is becoming increasingly clear that developers are optimizing less and less as a result.

And I'll say it again. You expect more from a demo for the public than that it runs like nuts

All presets up to (and including) Gothic use TSR upscaling, by the way. So somebody saying "runs fine on high/ Gothic" doesn't mean much itself, unless further specified. Hopefully the final release is gonna support DLSS4. At the clown show that's become the current GPU market, I don't mind upscaling the hell out of my GPU.

I think restarting the game does something to the upscaling options, e.g. the percentage you prior set in the resolution quality scale setting isn't saved and the game starts with upscaling on by default. May be wrong though.

DERP, it even has a warning that it'll basically be only for the newest top end hardware.

Meanwhile, playing on an older system at the next level down, it looks just fine, plays well... seriously, what in the world do you want, a free new maxed PC every year so you don't have to crap on things because of your own issues?

Funny, I was getting over 60 with older hardware at a more mid range setup. Did you have something else hogging resources, or is it dusty or something?

Yes it seems its not very good optimised my fans are blowing like mig 16 mach 8 but lets be honest everyone wanted this demo so enjoy and maybe help with some feedback
I have ultra high end specs, playing in 4K and was able to get around 60-70 fps on "Gothic" preset with 100% resolution scaling. Turning that down to 75 (I think that is the Gothic preset) I got around a 100 fps

This is interesting.. i have 4070ti and amd 7 7700x 32ram.. and fps are around 75-90 on Gothic graphic setting(and on second monitor is paused youtube and discord). Why are people having less fps with even better hw? I am still at the start currently with ratford so maybe others are talking about later parts?

Got myself around 40-70 FPS on 1440p after more optimization.
- TSR + 80% resolution quality
- AA to Low
- Shadow Quality to High
- Global illumination to Medium
Every other settings suggested Gothic setting.

Also turned down Motion blur to 28
Bloom to 0
Ambient occlusion to 0

My system r7 9800x3d + rx 7800xt + 32gb 6000mt/s under proton wine experimental (linux).

Game looks ofc awesome due to UE5 engine lights and stuff. But my frame times bounce between 11ms to 40ms all the time making it somewhat unplayable. Didn't try if any specific setting was causing this stutter. But i think its very common with unreal engine in general (had similar issue with Black myth wukong example)

Game felt thou even bit more "optimized" for me with these settings compared to against even Black Myth Wukong (which i kinda needed to use frame gen to make it on playable framerates and look still awesome)

That said. If they can manage to crush those optimizations and keep the game woke free. This game will be for sure strong contender for Goty Title. But yet again. Lots of optimization over the engine is needed and other stuff ofc that people complain (keybindings).

Other than that feels and looks good game for me to buy even at launch. (But it needs more optimization over the engine. And atleast FSR3 minimum)

EDIT:

FPS got fixed 80-100 with going fullscreen and dropping global illumination to low as is mentioned later on with a tip

The performances are really bad yeah, but this is an old build from a couple of months. I hope we will not get another STALKER 2 disaster.
4090, no problems. Get Rich or Die Tryin’
