I play on 4070ti Super and in other Games i have no Problems but that Gothic Demo.... the preset over Gothic is just a joke, Frames from only 33+ fps ????

on Presett Gothic i get over 100 for sure but all in all the Performance is ja bad joke. You should optimize more

I hope the release is soon, i play a lot of AA stuff so i will definitely enjoy this, i doesn't have to be perfect, just fun and solid.

(Also, play Risen trilogy pls, lets not forget the classics!)

I am sure people release public advertisements like a demo in the worst state possible in order to showcase their product. But to be fair this is a dumb take and he's right that this should have never released in the first place as it just creates a bad image off the actual game in it's released state and this gave me the decision to unwishlist the game forever.

This demo is literally like taking a dump on your product while developing it.

We asked for the demo besides it's old status.
Now it is our responsibility as a community to talk about the state of a demo, what a demo means and what you can expect from it. Optimization is not on the list.
Otherwise yes, this could hurt the image of the game before its release.
But it would be our fault.

@the rest of folk here., Well . using a 5700x3D and usualy I haven't any Problems with UE5 Games. I know that this is a Demo Version, but the point is, releasing a demo in such a state doesn't make a good impression for the development status of the game.
And the statement at beginning what says, that you need absolute high-end hardware is more evidence of suggesting that the graphics would be something very special, but it just isn't. I can only hope that the end product won't be properly optimized only for DLSS - FG or even MFG as optimization. Lets hope that the Developer are not that Lazy. Well the Graphics of the Demo is good but not that Great that 4070Ti S ,4080 and 4090s getting in that Trouble.

Could be a driver issue why the game is so finicky across a lot of users PC's. Some report solid fps with 3060, some report rather bad dips with 4070S, we will just have to wait for drivers and optimization which will probably come last, now they are gauging the audience interest.

I may be literally too old for this debate... Played demos of games way before the days of the "old" Gothic. I can't stand to hear "100+ fps is the bare minimum, I die in an instant if my fps drop under that mark!!!!" This is a DEMO!!! It is not needed to be perfect - it should give a glimpse of the game, the mechanics, maybe even some graphical teasers. But the game is far from finished.
It is a product, that you can buy, you can redeem it, you can look for problems in your PC settings/hardware. And - they already said it: the ultra qualitiy setting they have is for top of the list GPUs, maybe even future hardware - so probably talking about GPUs like RX 7900/RTX 4090/5080...

That has been the case back in the day with some games. We were happy being able to run modern games, because the evolution of hardware and core speeds and so on was abnormally fast.
Nowadays people don't complain about the GPU prices, that are insane, they complain about game demos not being perfectly optimized. If your game doesn't run with max Fps on your system - it may be not suited for it. Or a driver problem, idk.

People can feel free to buy GPUs for 800 bucks or beyond that. But this is/shouldn't be considered normal or standard. High end gaming is a status for some months, till the next higher tier of CPU/GPU is out. It is an addictive maze for gamers from companys making profit.

btw: I run this game with Ryzen 5 5600, RX 6800 16 GB VRAM and 64 GB RAM on a AM4 mainboard and in 1440p. Solid 60-70 Fps on gothic settings. 10 Fps on ultra settings. Just what I expected.

I am really annoyed how much hate this game recieves. They try to rebuild the Gothic feeling. With really great graphics, but true to the classic atmosphere. The original has never been about the shiniest graphic. It was a feeling, a rough and egdy, yet beautiful stone, that stayed in your pocket of rememberance for decades...

Es ist und bleibt eine Techdemo die bereits 1 Jahr alt ist. Es ist keine Demo des fertigen Spiels alles was du hier siehst kann noch geändert werden. Du hast meine vorherigen Post absolut nicht verstanden. Aber hey, kein Problem. Bist sowieso beratungsresistent. Jeder hier sagt dir das gleiche und trotzdem willst/kannst du es nicht verstehen. Heftiger 4070ti user xDDD

Diese Tech-Demo zeigt nicht das fertige Spiel. Es spiegelt auch nicht den aktuellen Stand wieder denn es ist 1zu1 die Tech-Demo welche man vor einem Jahr auf der GamesCom spielen konnte.

Mehr als deine 0815 Beleidigungen und deine Sturheit hast du leider nicht zu bieten. Mach ruhig weiter mit deinem gejammer. Kannst ja noch paar andere UE5 Spiele in 8k, alles auf Ultra und 10000 fps mit deiner krassen "high-End" 4070ti super spielen hahaha

edit: In der Demo ist nicht mal DLSS freigeschaltet und ich habe auf der Qualitätsstufe "Gothic" bereits 100-110 fps mit "nur" einer 3080ti.

Try restarting after changing settings.. and don't just use the highest preset and then blame the devs. If you have a good PC try the Gothic Preset, turn off Blurr, turn Shadows down on notch and the resolution to a hundred. And restart the game - worked like some kind of magic for me.

It's common issue with this ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ unreal engine 5. Due to their crappy TAA + Nanite + Lumen (you wont be getting any reasonable framerates even with 4090/5090 in reality). Hardware probably is there earliest at next gen without crazy fake frames and upscalers. (Upscalers ARE BAD)

What you wanna do is drop Antialiasing slider to 0 to boost your framerates. Use TSR and adjust resolution quality

7800x3d, 4090, 32 GB RAM and about 65-75 fps in gothic-setting.

Looks like the game could use some optimizations.
And, by the way, the movement animations need a little love as well ;)

Anyway, it felt like coming home somehow.
