Look, I've loved this series since the original, but you're doing a full-on remake here. I think it's a fair question--why no female and non-binary choice in 2025? This isn't a touch up of the graphics. The game--at least according to the demo and direction we've seen--is being remade fully. There is no reason in the game the Nameless Hero can't be a woman or non-binary as well.
I think if you don't want women/non-binary as an option in your game, just say it. Don't skirt around as if the lore dictates it must be so. It's a game, not an historical event.
Do you want to sugar coat the world? Of course its messed up, but thats how it was, medieval times, brute people, thats inside a penal colony my friend, do you want everybody to behave civil in there?
