Iron wood

I have a question, where can I find iron wood in Chapter 1? I finally found a recipe for a better weapon, Stone Crusher, but I need this wood, I don't know where to find it.

haha im in the same boat as you. my guess is that there is none until later chapters.

I found a few in the barons' castle, in the forge behind the door.
Or a simpler option: before entering the new camp, there's a road to the mountains on the left. There's a bloodhound in a cave there. If you can get around him, there's a piece of ironwood in the cave.

I found a ready Stonecrusher in a cave with Skeletons under a tower North-East of Old Camp. At the bottom of a cave is a room with a CRAPLOAD of skeletons and a skeleton mage. Couldn't deal with those, but 2-3 groups of skellies leading to it were doable with a mace I got from Gorn for The Raid mission and 46 STR. Stonecrusher is in one of the small side-caves leading up to the "boss room".
From there I went to Abandoned Monastery visible just North from the entrance of the tower, and with this new mace Snappers infesting the area were easy pickings. Bottom of a cave in that area - Shadowbeast lair with Sword of Death that's even better than Stonecrusher. Dealing with that Shadowbeast was a hoot tho. On the other end of the lair there's a magical thingy that deals constant electric damage, and I managed to lure the beast in range while standing on the other side just out of AOE (beast can't pass the trap). Stood there long enough for beast to drop down to 1-hit and jumped in to claim the kill.
Now I'm level 11 with an awesome sword, at the very start of Chapter 2.
I think i'm gonna be stuck in this game for a while...
