It's no use asking this question every week. Not you personally, of course, but about every week somebody starts a new thread to ask the question even though all you need to do is read the FAQ and follow the official communications about the game. On Steam, go to the game's Store Page and click 'Follow'. But you can also subscribe for news on the official site, follow Reddit, install Opera GX as your web browser, and many many more

We don’t have a release date.

According to THQ "This product will be released on 31 December 2024".

That's just a placeholder date. The game will definitely not be released on the 31st of December. That would make zero sense. And we know it will almost certainly be a later date rather than an earlier date.

so dec 30 2024 is a lie then because the already try to sell the collector edition but from you saying no release day that day is a lie then

No, a placeholder is a placeholder. And a lie is a lie. They're completely different words with completely different meanings.

The topic has been discussed before e.g. https://steamcommunity.com/app/1297900/discussions/0/4354495356179114362/

No idea, but I cant find any hint on their page that this is meant to be something like a placeholder.
Also not sure why they should use such placeholder at all.

From my perspective, placeholder would be a lie anyway as well. They should say that they dont know or dont want to tell. And not publicly use a fake date.

No idea what more you need. Both in this thread and in the thread I referred you to a representative for the developers/publisher states there's no release date set yet. So I'm not asking to believe me or to believe a placeholder date that somehow found its way to the Steam Store page, but to believe those representatives when they say there is no release date set yet.

Feeling tired now :steambored:

The irony of people on steam forums not knowing about these placeholders although steam also uses the exact same ones LMAO. Can't make this stuff up.
I would be fine with mid 2025. 2026 would be the 25th anniversary, they could plan something big.
I don't know how well this does. Plenty of people never played Gothic but heard of it.

They might be planning to push it as one of their main flag product, show they are for the gamers (unlike Ubisoft), release more content, maybe an addon...

Or maybe sales are terrible and there is never a G2 :D

In Poland we just got articles with prices of standard and collector's editions leaked. Apparently game will be around 200-230 polish zloty and is set for 2025 release.

Take this with a grain of salt. I can post a link to the article that talks about this if anyone is interested. Mind you its of course written in polish.
