Release will not happen
The best thing you can do is forget on some remake. It will take much longer than you expect. I assume year or two, minimally.

Why will release not happen?
The development is perfectly on plan. But unfortunately there is no release date yet.
"Release will not happen"
"I assume year or two"

I already lost interest in this. Probably will be outdated by the time they release it. Back to original Gothic 1 i guess

People want to release as fast as possible and then they will complain that game is not finished. Btw if I am not wrong they use UE5 so nah, it will not be outdated.

AND which gothic fan cares that much about graphics? xD

Then what's the point of remaking the game? If you don't care about graphics at all then we can play gothic 1 for another 20 years from now on.
Also, you might not remember but i still do. Gothic 1 and Gothic 2 had really good graphics back in 2001/2003, for an open-adventure game at least.

My point was, you are saying that game will be outdated after release. So first it's not true becasue they are using UE5 which is really new engine. and about graphics i meant even if it was outdated (It won't be) graphics will be a lot of better.

Like for me graphics is not that important but let's take witcher 3 old version. Graphics looks amazing imo and to these days it's "outdated" so if graphics in gothic remake would be similar to quality of witcher 3 graphics, it would be outdated but also no one would care that much because it would be HUGE improvement from original gothic.

And I like graphics in original gothics because it's unique, so true, for 2001/2003 it was great.

Another thing is that the game might stop working on modern systems/graphics drivers at some point and getting it to run would no longer be install and play, but running it on some emulator of older software versions.

Do we have rough time scales at all? even if just the year of release.

In the last interview our director said "realistic time window is 2024", but it is only realistic, everything can change.

And other than graphics and running on new systems, the game (hopefully) will have enough differences with the original that we will want to play it.

I would not want to play G1 I know by heart yet again, but remake, sure.
I hope it gets extra stuff. And finishes the chromanin quest.

Plus with hindsight they can fix many things too.

if you say 2024 is realistic and then say everything can change which include all other options, it is the opposite, it is unrealistic.

this game will be a "duke nukem foreve"r type of story and the result will be mostly the same.
you will release it, it will be a medcore rpg, in 2024 it will have outdated graphics already, and therefore a 50-60% rating which will not bring in the cost spend in and so the license will take a wandering path.

Exactly.

Argument with outaded graphics is so bad... Lmao if you get game this year you will be happy but if it will be in 2024 it will be outdated. What is a point of making games if you are scared that you will be late with graphics. I already said that UE5 is a new engine and there is only few games with it. New witcher will use UE5 and it will be released much later than gothic 1 remake but you don't care about arguments, you just want this game now. If you got this game now you would cry that this is unfinished.

I don't even know why I am saying this because there is no point but whatever... Graphics will be outdated because you said that. In 2024 there will be already Unreal Engine 10.
