//Zyddie
The demo was released in December 2019 so in December 2022 should be 3 years.
Only a good bit later, when they had their feedback, they started making a new team for the Remake, which only started developing the Remake in 2021. And they nearly started from scratch, with only taking a few asssets from the playable teaser.
And while the Gothic world might be small, the team is small too. In may 2021 Zyddie said to not expect any massive information about the game for 2-3 years. Considering that information doesn't mean release I guess we can expect at least 3-4 years until release. Which is exactly why my rough estimate is 2024-2025 though most likely later than earlier. Game Development really takes some time.
Yes, the Coming Soon here on Steam is misleading, and yes, there isn't much information about this stuff here on Steam. But still, they still are rather early in development, so don't expect anything any time soon.
So few good games in a lifetime of a human, a medium sized game should be finished in 2-3 years with 20-30 experienced people.
Perhaps they should release a remaster and a remake.
With 3 people they can do a very good remaster with that DX11 render and high quality textures on landscapes and all items and improved camera of the main character.
The main problem is the camera, when you run, it starts to zoom out, they should put STATIC camera like ELEX 2, and the camera in the original is a little high, they should put a little lower.
Just put the alternative camera from ELEX 2 (the static one) in Gothic remaster and boom, amazing remaster, of course among other improvements like DX11 render and high quality textures.
