Boring slime boss

Is there any way to make the slime boss any fun? I literally just don't play games with him in them anymore. In a game where the point is to bounce a ball around and try to get it to bounce a lot for fun...it's a boss that literally just makes that not happen. Every shot is just a straight down, boring, line. Am I missing something in the technique fighting him? I wish i could actually not just quit and restart every time I see him.

Good news: you CAN actually not just quit and restart when you see him. The only thing holding you back is your own save scumming and defeatism. As for techniques: the straight line isn't bad (it can totally net you ~100 damage per turn which is enough to win without too much damage), provided you start high and hit several normal pegs on the way down through the slime pegs. Of course at some point you should break into the bomb areas (mostly the center), which is generally done from above for the side ones and the sides for the center one. Slime pegs are immune to several peg-modifying effects, but not upgrades; so swoltorb is low key amazing.

I can beat him. never said i had issue with that. Just was saying it's boring as hell when compared to other options and the general theme of the game. I do, in fact, quit and restart every time i see it just because i want to avoid that particular tedium.

Hmm... only thing I can think of, is maybe the Lazorb and Duplication Station for crazy bounces, but that combo is a bit rare... The Concentration orb (I forget the name) might also help, but not as chaotic.

I thought maybe we can shortcut the boss by destroying all the "slime" tiles on the board, but never managed to do so. Also finding an egg from the tree event is a free pass for the slime boss as it heals 5hp for each slime passed and could survive several shots.

lol yea i've also started just skipping runs as soon as i see him. this boss is so annoying...
