I've made a guide for this game with tips for both of the first 2 new characters, check it out on the "Guides" tab.
I'll update my guide soon with info on the newest character, but preliminary tips are:
  • Any type of slime works for this, not just the one Splatorb applies as one might expect. You just need pegs with any type of slime on them.
  • The relic Prime Slime is a god send for this, as you can create slime with any orb.
  • The post battle screen is the best way to get 6 consecutive hits on slimed pegs, as this will count for the achievement!

Main things I've come across is that I had to use the original Peglin character to unlock them.

The spinfection peglin is easiest to get on the final boss that eats you in the castle. The orb that looks like a witch's hat and the spinfection doubling orbs are the best for that as well as a thinner deck so you can get back to them quicker. The relic gloves that add spinfection on attack also help.

The balladin peglin was the most difficult for me, but I think the same boss as above is probably the easiest one to get it on (primarily because he doesn't actually attack you so you really just need to ensure you win as long as you have some orbs that will give you the enough of the shield buff). I don't remember the orbs I used though.

The spinvention peglin is pretty easy since there are now 4 or 5 orbs that will apply some manner of slime on the pegs, not to mention relics that also add slime. It doesn't need to be the same type of slime that it bounces between either. Funnily enough, I got it on the same boss as above. Main reason that boss is so good for this one and the balladin is that there are so many pegs in close proximity. The orbs that place a slime will say so, but they also have similar looks (you'll see what I mean) that makes it easier to identify them quickly.

I play this game casually - can we get a cheat code to unlock these? I'd like to play with the new characters but it's fair to say I will never meet the requirements for either of these unlocks.

they really aren't hard to unlock, you just need to continue playing casually and look out for the right orbs/relics in order to get them

i actually try for them a lot and still fail. imo we need a cheat code, or easier way to get them

Honestly, just giving us orb bans at 25 coins a pop would be enough help. The sheer number of orbs is making it ROUGH for me to get spinventor because the slime potions aren't showing up with any degree of consistency.

Sorry for the slight necro, but did you publish this on "walkthrough.guide" as well?

Because it's on there verbatim, literally 1:1, dated 2 days after this post.

Just in case someone straight up copied this and published it as a guide and you want to know.
Whatever is going on here, someone copied from something.

I feel like those who say the characters are easy to get have gotten a tad bit lucky with their runs to get them while those of us who say they're hard, have gotten unlucky. There is a bunch of RNG involved in unlocking the classes. I just completed my 3rd straight run to the final boss building for Ballwark and I got a stack of 50 on a long battle with the ballista and I blinded it on every attack so all the Ballwark kept stacking. 100 seems wicked hard to get. But then again maybe I've just been unlucky or killing the enemies too quickly. I don't know. But it seems kind of silly doesn't it? That you're punished for killing the enemies too fast? I get it, its a challenge but I'd prefer the challenge not require me to Nerf myself into oblivion whilst walking on eggshells or break one and immediately fail. But then again maybe I'm just unlucky.

reset battle orb/relic rewards until you only get things that help your build. Go into shops and reroll them until you get 1 or 2 things you need for the build in the shop. If luck isn't on your side, which it often isn't in such a heavy-RNG game, you need all the chances you can get, and savescumming that way is your best shot

i just got spinventor. still trying for others

I just got the Balladin, save scumming for relics was the way to go. Didn't want to have to resort to that, but you have to. There's really no other reasonable way.

Since this is a top search result I thought I would share how I unlocked Balladin without using the Wall Boss.

Don't know if Forbification was changed because the FanWiki is different than what the actual orb does. It gives 1 Ballwark per Shield on the board, so my plan was to turn lots of pegs into Shields.

I got Ring of Reuse so I could fire it multiple times in a row, Glorious SuffeRing to slow down the pace of combat, and other shield generating orbs like Chopping Ballock with a Summoning Circle thrown in to cover as much of the board as possible.

I got the crossbow boss for the castle and I ended that battle with like 250 Bullwark while still tanking the arrow hits, and I had already gotten the char unlock earlier in the run just fighting a miniboss.

This build also helps with any battle length based achievements because it is a super slow build damage wise, but it still wins because you can generate so much Bullwark a turn.
