Story events/haunts

I see in the options menu an option to turn off story events.
Since I'm still searching for all of them for the achievement, I leave this on, but I usually get the same event again and again, which I'm sorry to say - is a waste of time, since I know that story bit already.

I thought story events only happen once, and then it's only random haunts?

I think with story events off they will occur once then once you have had them all they will no longer happen. While turned on they will cycle through once then they will repeat in random order some shifts you may get 2 or 3 then others you may just get one or even none

Can anyone confirm this? I don't know what I'm missing story wise.

You have to complete a shift to register the events you've seen. Once you've seen them all, it starts to cycle through them.

Oh. I've not had the hatch event with the heads happen yet, but I've now seen the bathroom lady for the second time..

edit: apparently I have. I guess I didn't notice it had happened? I did not play with stone heads/see a hatch in the retort room at all. o.o;;;

I'd like to make a suggestion that there are certain triggers to help spawn certain endings. I've been trying for ending 5 for the last hour and can't get the event to spawn. Maybe the game can make picking up the coins in the apartment makes that event more likely or something?
