Quick Update
Hey everyone! I'm sorry for my silence here recently. I've been working pretty hard on the new ending. I went a little overboard and it's about 7 minutes long. That may not sound like much but when you're doing all the animation, facial animations, sound work, code, etc. It ends up being a pretty large chunk of time.

Either way, I wanted to give a small update on where things are at. The new update will hopefully be done in the next two weeks here. Here's what I've been working on adding:

IN DEVELOPMENT
- New ending
- A bit of new content and lore that supports the new ending
- A new body
- New haunt events
- A slider to adjust the aggressiveness of the haunt system

Once I complete the ending work, I will need to send all new text to localization. Ater that, I will set it live.

CONSOLE RELEASE UPDATE
Obviously, MA is out on the Switch currently. The builds for Xbox & PS are current going through certification (the longest part of it all) it's a difficult part because I keep getting asked about console and have to reply "it's in cert" which sucks to say over and over to people but that's where it is. It will hopefully be done soon!

The porting team has done a great job porting to switch and integrating every update I've made. The console companies themselves are the standard slow down sadly.

AFTER THE UPDATE
After this update. That will have to be the end of larger updates for MA for the foreseeable future. I have been supporting the game with fixes and new updates for almost a year now and I need to send focus to other projects.

This doesn't mean it won't get any support, I couldn't do that to my games. Evern Our Secret Below (now 3 years old) got a controls overhaul recently. I simply can't use all my time devoted to MA updates forever. I would like to focus on DLC, new projects, and other cool stuff that further expand MA and grow new ideas too.

So that's where things are at! Again, I apologize for being a bit more absent here. There has been a LOT going on and I've been trying to stay focused on each aspect. Thank you so much for playing and being interested in my work!

'A slider to adjust the aggressiveness of the haunt system' so I'm going to dial that to 110

A new ending? Huh. Wasn't planning to play it again but definitely will for this.
Regardless, you've done well with this amazing game. Thank you!

New ending? Finally.
Thank you very much!
Btw is there any plan to give Stream Integration on the game? maybe Twitch Integration.
So streamers can get jumpscared by their viewers.
This is going to be awesome! Thank you for all your hard work. I truly hope more MA content keeps coming out!

The version for the Switch is awful.

My daughter bought it a couple of weeks ago and there are so many bugs and glitches that happen in the game where it renders it unplayable a lot.

For example, She will be playing and embalming a body but then suddenly the game won't let her progress. So she will have to exit the game and go back in and hope it works. If it does, it shows her equipment is almost used up and she wont have enough of the embalming equipment to finish the rest of the bodies so she has to quit the game anyways.

The graphics are horrible. There are a lot of things on the bodies that are super difficult to see and the shadows are so pixelated that it makes minecraft look high tech.

The scene with the girl in the coffin in the hallway, the coffin is all but gone. The only thing you see is the door to the coffin and that's it. And the list goes on.

It's really sad and disappointing. She looked forward to playing it as soon as she saw it on her Switch but since then, she's only played it a handful of times due to how bad the game play is.

As of now, it's been a waste of money. She could have saved her money and just played the game on my Steam account instead.

I'm sorry about this. The porting team is owned by my publisher and I, unfortunately, have no control over the work done to convert it to switch. I send them my PC/Steam work and they make the necessary changes to console. I report all the bugs I find but it is up to their team to prioritize it and a LOT of things that work fine on PC need overhauls on console.

They are dealing with porting it to Xbox and Playstation currently also so I know they are working on that as a priority.

As for the not progressing at points of the game. That is usually a story event and requires interaction from the player someplace to continue. The game runs events and usually waits to respond to the player. This can sometimes give the appearance of a soft lock. In this new update, I am addressing the largest offender event that causes people to think the game is locked.

There was a TON of graphical overhaul to the switch build as its hardware is far less powerful than other consoles so I imagine there are some changes they made that ended up causing glitches they probably missed.

I will be taking all this up with the porting team. I apologize and I really wish I had some level of control over console porting. If you don't have the game for Steam, please DM me on twitter @DSDigitalDev and I will give a key so your daughter can have a better experience.

I wish there was more I could do in this scenario but I have no connection with the work done for console beyond my original PC work. As I said, I will take all this up with the porting team.

They mentioned an update with fixes that they put up but I am not sure if it has made it through Nintendo certification yet. I will ask.

Thank you so much for explaining all of that. It makes a lot of sense now.

I do have the game on Steam and play it often and so does my daughter. We've been big fans since we found it here.

For those kind of haunts turn off story events that way the longest haunts really are the ones where you are pulled/pushed/dragged

This is BS as NONE of the bug issues have been fixed on the switch version, AND not one single update is available on the switch. It is simply the first version of the game with no bug fixes, plus now holiday decor. I would advise strongly against purchasing the switch version unless they decide to actually update the game fully and fix all the bugs otherwise you're paying for a very unplayable, half-assed version of the game. Clearly only PC gamers matter to this guy and his team.

What team? He's a lone developer who's publisher has a port team. I doubt he could even afford console ports on his own, dev kits are expensive especially for Switch.
