[Spoilers] New Ending, Discussion

So, apparently Daddy Raymond wasn't just a meme, I mean, hoolllyy-
My latest theories regarding the breaker box and us entering the door in the basement were actually correct (even though I really thought that breaker box was just a scrapped mechanic). And the ritual tool thingie too, however, there was a lot of stuff, I honestly did not expect, and rose many more questions. A TV, what is it for? Now that it is on, can we find a cassette of some sort? Now that we know that Raymond's mother has been possessed, how did that happen? How did Raymond manage to live that long without banishing the demons haunting him? How come in 2nd ending (I Believe it's the one), where Rebecca chooses incorrect body and kills Raymond, she manages to actually hurt him, whereas Vallery's demon couldn't do anything? Does the information that is written on papers in basement could actually lead us to anything? Is there another secret ending? Well, the answer to the latter 2 is probably no, it is likely that those notes are there to show us the Trial and Error method of Raymond, of finding a way to lock demons in bodies, and no, because if there is I am going to actually die finding it. As one of the notes has illustrated an old prototype of the tablet, and we have the ingredients needed to recreate it (ashes from cremation oven part and blood, ofc). Perhaps there is more to it?
Anyways, leave your thoughts, as I am going to try and find new haunts with maxed out fear parameter!

The new ending didn't work for me - Spoiler warning
I did was Vanessa wanted me to do - I burned her mark w/ the correct body. But instead, it gave me the ending where you kill Raymond. I don't think I did anything wrong because that was the only thing Vanessa said to do when you tried to let her out. "Take my mark and burn it w/ the possessed body." Is anybody having this problem? My only guess as to "why" it might not have worked is because I didn't play the videotape nor the audio log w/ the priest behind the second door in the basement. (It was my second attempt at it and didn't feel like listening to those again)

Hi! This is a spoiler, but in case you can't find the VHS, there is a hammer on the table next to the new door on the basement, you have to use it to break the little white switch on the new door, it will open a little part of it you have to solve the puzzle (literally move a switch to the left so it is alligned with the cable) and inside you will find a few things, not only the VHS, to get the final ending. Hope it helps!

In my first play of the ending I didnt find the VHS, and it’s not like not playing the tape would change anything, I think that you’ve just burned incorrect body.

My guess, why Val's demon went down so fast was it's lack of a host. It was in a "transference" state, moving to it new host (Becca). Without human skin to keep it bound and anchored, plus caught off guard, Delver could banish it.

But, that's just a theory from watching too much supernatural stuff.

Do have to wonder on that "priest recording".(it's in the room with the VHS) By (redacted)'s mutterings, it was called forth by something. 4 symbols, foretelling it's etc etc. Still, could be anything from the "end times" or Delver's family have been digging too deep into the supernatural secrets.

I had all the endings done, but since I don't have my save anymore, would I have to restart and play several hours trying to get the older story bits to trigger before I could see the new content? As much as I liked this game, I really don't want to have to replay hours of old cutscenes just to see the new stuff.

What's the new symbol on Raymond's chest? There are three symbols for three houses which we already know but there's another new one. What is that? And why the devil got burned away when it touched the symbol(s) on Raymond's chest?

Do have a guess the unknown demon bound to Ray's mom is beyond simple banishment. Her being under the mortuary explains why it's been a lightning rod for demonic spirits for some time. She's a beacon, calling more into the area.

Add to that, she's of a higher house than the other 3, with no clear name. Meaning, short of Deus Ex Machina, that demon might be unable to be banished. Or, worse, it's desire to get Ray means HE's the beacon because of her.

No you don't need all endings for the new one just do the new stuff regarding Vallery and it'll trigger

Is it the same symbol, like the one on the back cover of the bible? If so, then it's presumably a symbol of the main house. There is a higher and 3 lower houses, one of lower will open the path and other two will follow, the upper one is probably the one belonging to Satan.

I find it weird that the demon congratulates Raymond for being a "prepared boy" and keeping a backup. I assumed he would use Rebecca for her blood if something happens to Vallery? but then the demon mentions he has no more blood now, so another layer of protection is down... so what is the backup for, in that case? Seems it would not be for the flesh tattoo protection, because it's implied there have been multiple backups, so he would have switched his mother out by now
