Identifying possessed

Any tips for finding the correct body? I had one with new marks showing and moving fairly often but it turned out to be incorrect. So if clues can prove and disprove a body is correct, what should I be looking for?

So the Night Shift Database is a good place to look at for any information regarding demonic entities, including looking out for which body is possessed!

I did read that, it doesn't help. You can see new marks / see it moving but it doesn't matter cause that doesn't prove it's the one or disprove its not. I checked both bodies for 5 minutes with no marks or movements then I picked the 3rd one that did and it's wrong again.

I have the same problems, the clues are useless because they can mean both things. Staring at corpses is no fun :(

Y'know, if there are instructions in the game and people still can't figure out what they need to look for, maybe the players aren't the problem and "It's in the game" doesn't solve it.
Especially since you're providing an additional, more exhaustive "Official Guide" in the Steam community guides yourself and are actively giving people more hints on Discord.

It sounds like you found the correct body. Are you sure you got the mark right?

Pretty sure since it said the body was wrong in the cutscene but you may be right and it says that during either being wrong.

After finding the name which was pretty simple just from the 3rd letter. I carried on through the story till I got the 4th. Then I noticed markings on their heads which matched the clans with all the names inside. Not sure if it was a lucky guess, but I burnt the body with the clan carving in their forehead which was linked to the demons name. Didn't even notice any movement from the bodies. Not sure if the marking was supposed to appear first, but made it way to easy.

Thing is the demon or what it is can trick you. I just had a demon that tricked me, the fist sign was the hatch where one body was was opening and closing.

But when i did the last body the demon made marking on the torso so i thought it was the right body, i knew which demon it was and placed the mark.

The sound got intensified more and more, the damn bastard was also blinking with the lights when i tried to place the body.

BUT that wasnt the correct body since i couldn't place it in the burner.
So my first thought went to the corpse where the hatch was opening and closing before. Moved the mark and ergo it was the right one.

Seems to me you really need to pay attention to what is happening around you, also it seems that the "right" body have more encounters?

Sounds like you got lucky, my first night my first 2 didn't move/have any marks appear but the 3rd was constantly pointing/had marks appear in front of me so I assumed it was him. Wrong. 2nd night all 3 were eventing and pointing but only one got new marks on their back after I put them back in storage so I picked that one. Wrong again so it's not always a marking thing and obviously something I missed.

If you couldn't put the body on the burner, that's a bug rather than a clue.

I understood the instructions, not sure which part people are having trouble with. The most difficult part for me was memorizing which symbol it was as some look a bit similar.

Not all, one had it on the arm but it still wasnt the correct body.

I got 2 body whith the demon family on it at the same time so it's a bit tricky, the first one was the one i suspected, i used ashes and matches on it and it revealed the demon family, since i got so many bug, if i didn't have this clue i wouldn't have finished the shift, since one sigil was not appearing.

I got the same demon family sigil on the last body appearing, so if i didn't made it appear on the first, i would have burned this last body and lost the game

I just had one where I had everything correct: Got all sigils and put them correctly in the mark, PLUS the house sigil matched the one on the body I gambled my ashes on, but... YoU cHoSe tHe wRoNg bOdY.
