Just cannot get ending 5...

I have the coins and the necklace , but I just cannot use them when the guide tells me to.

With hanging Rebecca, I try to put any of the coins in her hands, but all I get is "I can't use that here". There is no prompt to interact with her hand - should there be? All I can do is look at the coin already in her hand, or touch her (triggering the cutscene where she burns) .

With Rebecca's dad on the gurney, I can't use the necklace at all - she just keeps saying "I'm missing the...I can't...". The only option to leave is to use the other item instead.

I have been through all other endings, and been through the "normal" (bad) version of each of these events multiple times...what am I missing? Please help, this is really starting to aggravate me!

Sharing this info here because it's also available in the walk through. For others, don't click if you don't want it spoiled how to achieve this ending!

The coins are used in the hanging hall event early one where Rebecca is hanging there and if you interact with her the body burns. Instead you put a coin in each hand.

Using the necklace on the father should be doable in that event. You should be able to right click and use quick inventory to place the necklace on him there. You can also use it in the event where he swaps onto the embalming table early on and says "why did you let me die?"

Thank you...but the problem is that I can't do either thing because the game won't let me!

I physically cannot put the coins in her hands - I am clicking on them, right clicking to use quick inventory, and she just keeps saying "I can't use that here" when I select the coins! I have the dad's 5 year coin and Rebecca's 10 year coin - neither works. Is there meant to be a prompt to show I can interact with her hand, or should it be possible to quick-inventory it? Either way, I can't do either!

With the necklace: again, I can't use the necklace at all. I can't access quick inventory - the menu doesn't even appear. I have the items in my inventory both before and when I return to the mortuary - I just can't find any way to use it on the dad when I get pulled through to the dark cave. The only way I can leave is to hit him with the rock.

I didn't have the problem with the coins, but I can second the quick inventory not appearing and forcing the rock option instead.

I stand to be corrected, but I think your issue may be that you maybe didn't retrieve the coins from Rebbeca's personal drawer in the morgue. They go there automatically after you collect them from her apartment and arrive at the morgue.

If you did retrieve them from her drawer then I'm afraid you may have a bug!

Heya - thank you, I did pick them up from the drawer in the morgue as well. It does seem like a bug to me, it's just so annoying to have to keep going back to see if it's working now! :D Thanks for taking the time to reply though.

Heya - thank you, I did pick them up from the drawer in the morgue as well. It does seem like a bug to me, it's just so annoying to have to keep going back to see if it's working now! :D Thanks for taking the time to reply though.

Agh, that's a bummer! I thought that may be it because I got caught by that myself. Hopefully it's something that'll get fixed in a patch soon :)

Ok, finally worked out the problem - I was trying to apply the coins to the hanging Rebecca in the High Risk ward, not the one in the corridor! I didn't realise there were 2 hanging Rebeccas! In all of my playthroughs I'd only seen the hanging Rebecca in the corridor once, I think in my very first run, so completely forgot about it. Literally never had her appear again in 11 runs. In fact, the only way I could get her to appear - or the dad on the gurney - was to start a new shift rather than continue. Pressing Continue never gave me the correct events to use the items. Don't know if that's intentional or not, but if so, probably a good idea to add it to the guide! :) .

Glad you got it sorted. I *think* the high risk ward version you see may be an additional clue to those who missed it in the morgue hall. In the HRW Rebecca is holding one of the coins already, and there's a second copy of the box with the other coin and necklace still inside it.

I don't seem to get Rebecca events, been trying to get this ending. I saw father this time and placed the necklace but it was already my 3rd body. Can't place coins if I don't see myself :(
Edit: Nevermind, father is enough it seems because I got ending 5 without placing coins ^^

I've had her appear even when this isn't the case, so I know it's not absolutely required, but make sure you have the coins in your inventory when in the morgue itself; I don't know if the system reads up on that and makes it more likely, but once I was doing this I had her pop during the first embalm about 3 times (different shifts, first embalm each time) in a row. Could just be RNG though.

I find that carrying those items didn't burden me from doing any of the other tasks, so carrying them all the time worked out best for me (unless of course, I want a different ending instead).

I've been able to get this ending before, but now I'm also encountering issues. I collect the coins and necklace from Rebecca's apartment, then they appear in the drawer in the embalming room. When I get the correct haunting, either dad on the table or Rebecca hanging in the hallway, the game does not allow me to pickup the coins or necklace from the drawer. Anyone else noticing this or is it just me?

I'm having this issue too. Came across it several times. Has anyone figured it out?

Edit: I just found out that it's not when the body on the gurney becomes her dad that you use the necklace. But it does mean that you need to keep the necklace with you at all times, unlike the coins, which can be picked up during the related event.
