Only ever getting one ending

I have 100% the game but when doing another run to chewck my speed as a challenge. Even though Ih ad the right body that matched my sketch pad with the ashes. And the name was correct I got the possession ending.

Anyone else having this potential glitch?

Yes this does seem to be occurring on subsequent shifts, but as of yet a firm cause hasn't been determined.

All we do know for now is that the best course of action seems to be:
1. Use New Shift instead of Continue to get into a new session (all existing progress towards achievements is retained, nothing is lost including how many shifts you've done/won/etc.).
2. Embalm all 3 bodies even if you determine the body/demon earlier.

Together you SHOULD still be able to get the good ending(s).

I just got done doing a run with that....still gave me the bad ending.

This is happening to me too. My first shift i got the good ending, and the following 10 times i got the ending where it says i chose the wrong demon.

i have gotten 4 already but oddly, it shows 2. i guess i have to try new shift as i have always chosen continue.

If this continues to happen it would be helpful to capture some information that can be reviewed. There's a lot of claims of it happening (too many to discount it being a real issue), but for many people it just doesn't and so trying to reproduce it and identify the cause is proving really hard.

I'd recommend the following:
1. Capture/provide your SaveData.dsd file from "%userprofile%\appdata\locallow\darkstone digital\the mortuary assistant" folder. Grab this just before you burn your chosen body, but after you've already put the mark on it with the sigils (this file contains only data relevant for your current shift and is erased at the end of each one and replaced with a blank one - nothing personal is stored there)
2. Screenshot or note the name of the body you're burning
3. Screenshot or note the name of the demon you believed it was
4. Screenshot or note the mark tablet with the sigils you chose
5. Screenshots of the sigil markings on the walls
6. State whether you fully embalmed the body being burned, and whether you had also fully embalmed the other 2 or not too

It's a big ask to provide this, but it might start providing some clues as to what part of things it isn't seeing or calculating right. Or maybe it all looks good, and something weirder is happening under the hood.

Can confirm. I have the same problem. It's not every time but it happens often.

On a side note.
How you clean off the ashes off the body? The swipes didn't do anything.
Luckily I still burned the right body and had the correct layout of the markings.

For sure looks like you got all the right things. Pity about the save file though, would have liked to verify it was also thinking the same things would have worked or not.

I think I have identified the cause.

Doing further testing now, but I believe it's the first sigil (the '9' looking one) in the cabinet.. if that's in the name, then I believe it's getting broken. So it SHOULD have been a 1 in 12 issue, over enough time. Unfortunately random numbers don't work like that and so some people probably got a run of demon names that had the same sigil present multiple times.

This happened to me 10 times in a row lol. Once i started selecting "new shift" instead of "continue" its seems to have corrected itself.

This has been fixed as of the patch earlier today :)
