I hope they have much less leaders than in Civ VI with not just pros but also cons.

Keep the ones from 6, but add more options for Africa, South America, Australia, and North America. I mean native people, not ones who came later and colonized these areas.

Ferdinand III of Castille, a principle driver of the Spanish Reconquista and a Roman Catholic Saint. His success in battle is legendary, and his diplomatic skills with the other Reconquista monarchs is also worthy of a well rounded Civ leader.

I have played Civilization since its amiga days. Its disheartening that one of the greatest leaders in the world, one which saved an entire nation from collapsing and disappearing, were never included in Civilization. The leader I am referring to is MUSTAFA KEMAL ATATÜRK. Founder of Türkiye and father of Turks. Isn't it time to see him already ? ;)

Recep Tayyip Erdoğan - So that I can finally prove to the world that the only way to fight inflation is by lowering interest rates. My most powerful unit would be a wheelbarrow full of Turkish Lira.

A Viking leader that is historically correct! Genetics revealed the raiding Vikings came from southern Sweden and Denmark, in lesser degree from norway, even the norwegian tourist board and industry is repeating that false myth endlessly

what if... the bonuses were tied just to the nation, and we had an extra option to create our own custom leader... seems long overdue.

Wladyslaw II Jagiello over Jadwiga as leader of Poland.

Sima Yan as alternate leader for China, because I feel like ending the three kingdoms time period qualifies as important enough.

For Japan instead of Tokugawa or Oda, pick Hideyoshi Toyotomi this time around.
Though I feel like picking Tokimune Hojo already was a cool move to get away from the warring states era and focus on the defense against the Mongols instead (not many can say they survived the horde). Maybe the devs could also go with Emperor Meiji but I guess that would be too controversial.

Hadrian for Rome, because there was a mod in VI that added him and it would be really good. Belasarius for Byzantium.
im pretty sure belisarius was a general under justinian I.

How about some of the more, infamous leaders? Saddam Hussein, muammar gaddafi, Pol Pot, maybe even Donald Trump?

Aurelian for Rome.
If we have Hungary again, Caroberto.
Also want to see less "modern" states (like Canada and such ) since there are so many we haven't or barely seen before with actual historical impact. Also they could bring back multiple leaders for one civ.
