It's just a shame that Square Enix didn't manage this themselves. Once again you can see how all the Developers and Publishers try to save Money and put as little work into it as possible.
I hope you will continue to update your Overhaul Mod, even if it is a lot of work.

I miss that feature and it ended in the Japanese game of Dragon Quest V on PS2 being the last to have that feature.
Not sure I'm fully understanding, but it's possible to change those sound effects in DQXI. Not too different from mods that change the music, as I recall.

I messed up with Dragon Quest V on PS2 it's actually Dragon Quest VIII on PS2 that was last having the feature of lifting pots and barrels.
The "lifting and throwing" feature was replace with the "click break" feature in modern Dragon Quest games if you haven't played Dragon Quest VIII (PS2), Dragon Quest/Warrior VII (PSX/PS1), Dragon Quest IV (PSX), or Dragon Quest V (PS2) then you wouldn't know this feature.
