Letting buyers decide is pro-consumer, SE decided to go complete anti-consumer the moment they get to "decide" all previous paying customers get shafted for supporting the game at launch. In other words having to pay for the game twice with graphical downgrades, or no extras for us.
Nobody listened. Too busy discussing the same pointless garbage.

Yes, that is it. It doesn't have the QOL upgrades, but the graphics are better
That's cool you figured out how to get it. I bet there are a lot of people who regret not picking it up. The DE is arguably better, but to lose the graphic fidelity is a big blow
Thanks to you and everyone else to bring up the graphic's are sub-par from the original.
You're welcome. The graphics aren't terrible, but it would bother me to know that i'm not getting the best experience out there.
Just to say, DQ was never about graphics as anyone who played 1 through 7 can attest. But since 8, the wonderful anime art has really enhanced the experience and compliment the story and world fantastically.
It would be nice to see if modders can tweek the DE graphics to match or surpass the OG's graphics.
You're in for a treat. DQ is a venerable and enjoyable series and this game is no exception. mechanically, it's like FF, but storywise, DQ stories actually make sense. I think if FF fans were to be truly honest, the games are weakest when it comes to story.
