I did not even manage to play all features of games after i purchased it and now those features will be gone! Waste of money! I was going to buy Forza Horizon 5, but after this in not going to give my money to Microsoft for any game with life services again, because i dont want my games to turn into brick in just 3 years!
♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥, games should be fully functional forever! And we should have warranty that official servers will remain operational at least 10 years! And once official support is ended all features should remain functional and server binaries and sources should be released and game should be patched to allow to connect to custom servers so that users can continue to operate servers of games unofficially! This is how it should be done!
Without the tunings and liveries there will be some disservice for casuals like myself. Likewise in the sense of long term cultural game preservation.
Maybe make a final release of everything that can be preserved and put it as freeware. This is Microsoft and here is what we did as a historical time piece game of great cultural value.
Or remaster these Forza Horizons at some point or periodically so we can always append our save game and have continuation with achievements.
Sure some stuff is filler but the baby is still there and it needs to live.
The Steam version saves are not compatible with the MS store version
Online features aren't going away, they're just not releasing new festivals (for now). Also the game's been out since 2018, despite the more recent addition to Steam.
Now when the announcement comes that online/multiplayer is being taken down I absolutely agree they should make the server software open source, which I think should be the norm in cases like this (though I wouldn't hold my breath).
I really wish they would add in huge text in the post that online functionality isn't going away as of this announcement. It's in the full announcement but clearly no one is reading that.
Yeah, it is written on the Forza website
