I agree that W10 can be very intrusive at times, but you can turn off some of the services related to that intrusiveness.

Also I believe that W7 can be more stable and simpler to use... but there's a reason I use Windows 10

Gaming Performance, Security Related updates, driver support and i.e but everyone has a reason to choose. W7 is outdated, and has security vulnerabilities unless you pay for extended support (afaik you had to pay for it)

Windows 98 or no buy here. But yeah seriously, according to the most recent Steam hardware survey, less than 3% of Steam users still use Windows 7. Over 92% of users have Windows 10 by now. In 1-2 years most games won't support Windows 7 anymore and then you have to switch. Game developers aren't going to bother catering for the 1% of users that use an outdated OS.
