Don't get me started about what exactly bugs me the most about it, but I think if I had to pick something it's the fact the author of that stuff gets to decide for me how the champion reacts to all that ♥♥♥♥. It's already kinda underwhelming that the player has little control over the traits of the champion (though there are many good reasons for that) , but the Kitsune stuff even takes away any real choice in how to act, outside of simply ignoring the content. And the next thing ties into that and that is how freakin' invasive the whole thing is, if you don't like fetish foxes you can basically forget about not only Kiyo but also Cait, cause you get forced to deal with the stupid foxes to advance her quest. It's freakin' ridiculous in my opinion. And we aren't even talking about what I think of the actual content.
Let's just say reading "Raphael" already triggered me to write this rant...
Raphael is Kinu's ♥♥♥♥ to deal with, her nemesis, her trial to overcome, the last obstacle on her road to independence., let her have it.
Doesn't necessarily mean you won't have a part in it, but it's not your fight. You have your own Demons to wrangle, literally.
And yes, Kinu is an adult, Aya and Asagiri, not so much. Not to mention the other unnamed children who have CO2 poisoning now.
So no, it's not just Kinu's problem, as ALL your children got hurt by this, not just your eldest.
From what I hear, it's exactly the opposite.
The kitsune ideas came first and CoC2 is kinda built out of it. Which makes CoC2 kind of a backdrop for the kitsune story.
Which makes not the most sense to say imho since the Kitsune stuff is a totally different sort of game, basically, and doesn't fit in any of the "Fen Games" cause it is a kinetic novel and not a game at all, least a "CYOA" game. Even if the Kitsune stuff came first (which sounds a bit weird given that Savin afaik had thought about doing a sequel to CoC for quite a while) CoC 2 and the Kitsune content don't have that much in common.
Kitsune contet is basically fanfiction from one of the writers. I honestly wouldn't be surprised if Raphael turns out to be the author's self-insert and ends up stealing Kyoko from the champion. That seems just the right alleyway of stupidity the Kitsune content is going for.
