Difference between browser version and steam version?
I was thinking of buying the game but a friend told me not to bother since its free to play on the browser and would be a waste of money so im just wondering if there is any difference between the two.

Actually I think the infographic is slightly outdated, since backers can use beta codes to get the backer patches on Steam too (reportedly, anyway; I'm not a backer).

So really it's mostly just achievements, cloud saves, and the feeling of contributing towards something you like.

Mostly the Steam version is good if you want to support the dev. That's about it really. I have played their games since the original release of the first CoC, now it was nice to be able to give back.

You're not considered a backer if you literally buy the game? That seems kind of crappy to me.

No, you're not.

Whether you believe it or not, the team has claimed they need to pay the salaries of roughly seven people every month, for a development cycle which is going to last roughly three more years according to the store page. While nice, the $10 store price isn't going to last them the entire period, which is why they need the recurring money on patreon to pay their salaries. There's a difference between a one-time $10 price and $5 monthly fee. This really isn't shocking given the model of other similar western erotic games like Princess and Conquest -- not that it stops people from pirating the backer benefits for that game, anyway.

Savin's said on the blog that if you don't like the $10 price you're welcome to play the free version, which content-wise is identical.
