My Quasi-Review
I played this game back when it was completely free; I'm glad to know it's still out there, but having lost my old save files, I find that I don't enjoy the game quite badly enough to want to go back to playing it, particularly not for monetary cost. It has, or at least had back then, a lot of problems, ranging from nonconsentual fetish content that I strongly opposed, to generally just an immensity and purpleness of prose that was more likely to bore me than turn me on. It has a lot of interesting ideas in it, but has actively removed several of these in order to pursue other goals that I find less desirable than the earlier version, and in general it just doesn't foreground the player experience as much as I think it should, with an over-emphasis on the author's kinks and very few options for a player whose interests don't fully overlap with these.

Overall, this is a "49% positive" review, but if I had access to Steam's official Review function for a game that I'm familiar with and unwilling to buy, I'd have to say that in the binary thumbs up/down rating, this one lands firmly on the thumbs down side in spite of its numerous positive qualities. If opened to full mod support and then modded to my specific preferences by someone else with the technical knowledge and time (I lack either, as well as having a general desire to not know how the sausage is made before dinnertime), the game would have enough interest value to bring me back, but even then, if I were to pay for it at all, I'd be paying the modder, not Steam.

PS: I don't have SteamGuard and cannot answer any comments, other than by editing this OP, and will not bother to do that for insignificant questions.

I've kept an eye on this game because it's always lauded and highly rated. However, based on the screenshots alone, I've never gone through with buying it.

I'm not a fan of cows, foxes, all of that stuff that I know some people like and that's great, but as far as I can tell it's not optional. So really not something I want. I really don't like games that end up forcing me to be transformed into an animal and it's hard to tell if that's the case here.

Another reviewer stated it's gotten more heavy into gay and futa which is also not high on my list. Bottom line, sticking to a few fetishes makes it easier for the buyer. Or have content toggles but make that clear. If it's stated somewhere, I've overlooked it multiple times.

As a owner and former user I'd like to address some of the issues here.

1. You don't have to be transformed into animal-morph characters. You can be box standard human.

2. While I am assuredly not a fan of traps and futa's the reality is that the game is and has always been designed by people who have either an interest in those kinks or a willingness to cater to them.

3. While much of the content is hetero-oriented there are portions that are geared towards homosexual and futa. As well as being as sub as opposed to dominate or equal partner. Some of this is arguably non-optional.

If you can't handle it, don't feel bad. You are not alone. I cut out all the content options that don't fit my interests when given the choice. Like Evelyn. I'm sure her content might be of interest. Except I'm not a sub nor gay. As such the only sausage I'm a fan of is my own. Bringing back around, a person not into it can skip her content 100%. The sheer volume of futa's unfortunately you can't. Take it as encouragement to never lose a fight.

In truth my biggest complaint comes down to the streamlining of the mechanics. For example there is no point in trying to build a lust character as that whole combat thread has been completely removed.

There is still a use for a Lust character, since the "combat thread" was merged with the main HP bar. Tease Damage is still a thing, and I've built a Charmer around using Tease (and having a Summon for anything that is immune). And while I never played with the Lust and HP split, I have played the original COC, and in that game it not only controlled what Magic you could use, but it worked as an unofficial HP bar that was much trickier to control. After all the trouble the Minotaur King gave me, I'm quite happy to keep those separate.
