Will there be mods? For example image mods?
Like title. Will there be a possibility for players to add their own stuff at some point? The one that I would like the most would be like in CoC mod that added images. Don't get me wrong, the game is enjoyable as it is, and I get the main point, in which it is supposed to be mainly text based. That is why I'm asking for mod support. Since images may be not what programmers/producers are aiming for, maybe someone from community would have similar opinion as me on the matter. Or perhaps even main team is planning such feature in the future by any chance?

The devs have said there is no need for mods because anything you want to submit, you can do so and get into the game proper.

Exactly, and anything that won't be approved by them is stuff they do not wish to be a part of their game, for a multitude of reasons. So I'd say it's basically 100% guaranteed there will be no mods.

The most you get is giving your Champion a personal mugshot, but that's about it

I know, but I was just wondering if there will be more options in that regard... in either closer or further future

True, but in the CoC it was mostly all right. Also, this possibility is a little ray of hope that devs would like to work at this themselves at some point to avoid... more drastic (?)... content that potential modders would include. Still, even if it is not for images, I hope that CoC 2 will be mod friendly at some point. Even simple scenario creator/event editor could prove to be amusing given some people creativity :D

The author of this thread has indicated that this post answers the original topic.

One of my hopes is that there will be mod support for new, player created content. Or the ability to change and edit stories, maybe even write our own in game.
As above, there will be absolutely no mod support. If you want to see something in game, the devs accept story, character, etc, submissions from players. That has been their model for more than a decade now.

If they were going to reject something from being official, they certainly aren't going to allow modders to do it.

I think they have a hard stance against mods after some drama with Corruption of Champions 1. Some mod got semi-popular but was pretty poorly written and had some more extreme fetishes (scat, gore mutilation, and I think loli?) and people were starting to associate the game with those fetishes so they put a hard ban on promoting them. Fair overall imo

Didn't know about that. In that case, I understand their decision fully. Still, it is kinda shame that some more creative writers from the community will have harder time getting their ideas into game because some guy on the internet had some... unnecessarily hardcore... fetishes :(

Yeah there will Officially be no mod support. But games dont need official support for people to mod them. I'd say odds are once the game is finished those that want to mod it will get around to doing so.

I myself am not a fan of modding games when they are still in the production phase. Its alot of work having to upkeep mods, when the base game is changing every month or so. And its honestly not fair to the game creators, as until they declare something "done" there is still a chance for them to add and change things to the game they are working on. When mods get involved, entire "concepts and ideas" can get hogged by different modders, and then the game devs cant add their own version of said content, without being accused of "stealing" it.

So yes, someone some day will mod the game, and No, it will never be officialy supported.

Go over to the Fenoxo Forums & check the thread for content submissions & the guidelines for those.

Yeah, murder, theft, rape, non-consensual body transformation and racism are all fine. Including all variations while pregnant.

Including the blatant transphobia, including fetishization and the perpetuation of harmful fictional tropes.

Can we talk about how there's only two masculine cisgender male characters in the entire game who you can have more than a single page of conversation / relationship with - and one of them is a hateful, abusive, emotionally unstable toxic specimen of masculinity?

I mean, as long as we're busy pearl clutching, can we worry about the things that actually are in the game which are insanely problematic before we worry about what completely unrelated and non-supported modders might or might not do with their own completely unrelated projects?

None of those things scare away buyers except for the rare few who spout a million buzzwords, if a mod becomes popular enough and it enters the public mind that the game has scat, gore, or loli it will scare away buyers.

Good god, I have zero interest in discussing what you deem "problematic" in a smut game. If I did I'd join Twitter.
