Severe Lag Out Of Nowhere

[Baja Blast Me]

I have over 500hrs in this game and have played through at least 4 times now already. It wasn't until recently that it began lagging so horribly that i've had to restart my pc often just to keep playing.

I've tried
-uninstall & reinstall
-verify files
-check for updates
-check driver updates
-etc

No luck. It's to the point where this game is entirely unplayable

for some reason, I remember something about the V-Sync setting? and also turning off auto-save
