Minimum requirements should be enough to play the game but they're not

My laptop is above the minimum requirements to play this game, but now that I've reached the fire station the game crashes while trying to load the level. Every time. I physically cannot progress the game any further because it won't load. I can replay previous levels, but that's it.

I can deal with having to play on low graphics and a not great frame rate. It's still a very satisfying game! But minimum requirements should be just that, the minimum requirement at which you can complete the game (even if it's not at the best quality), not the minimum requirements at which you can play some of the game.

Is anyone else having this issue? Have you found any fixes beyond getting a better laptop/computer? I love this game a lot and want to keep playing!

A notebook has a lower performance than a desktop PC with the same specs. That is because the GPU is mostly a chip and has a lower clock rate than the desktop GPU. And this is because of thermal reasons.

It sounds like the minimum requirements are enough to play the game since you've been able to play a fair chunk of it. The issue you're describing sounds just like a bug and unrelated to performance.

I can run it on a an 8 year old laptop that doesn't meet the GPU requirements without that issue. The CPU is also at the lower end of the requirements. Not sure what to suggest other than a file validation and make sure you have the latest drivers.

With a loading issue, it might be worth trying to turn off autosave as this effects hard drive most.

You can also submit a report in game with F8 where we can look a little closer at the issue and your hardware.

Also it's worth mentioning with minimuim requirements it is every component as a base line not a single component. Though hopefully with some tweaking you can get the game to run again.
