DLC multiplayer question

If I buy a dlc pack and host a game, does my friend also have to have the dlc or is just me okay?

To play any of the paid packs, everyone playing needs to own the pack

Dang that sucks, usually on other games like Payday 2 / 3 only 1 player needs to buy the DLC & then can invite 1 of their friends

That is actually really unfortunate. I was considering buying this game. That inevitably would lead to me buying the game for others. But with that type of greed, I'm gonna pass. Too many great co-op games out there.
