Is Shrek DLC canon lore?

Was playing some of the levels with a friend in Co-op and they asked about why the Onion carriage was considered wood so we started wondering if the onion carriage was just carved out of wood and not like an actual onion that was magically made to be big and ridden inside (like the pumpkin in Cinderella but it stopped transforming halfway) but then we questioned if this was canon lore to begin with.

Yeah I was thinking it was just easier to put "wood" instead of making a whole new type for plant and such. It's close enough.
