Fluid Dynamics - Yay or Neigh?
Heya,

so, I've been enjoying the game as a nice past-time peace of mind relax activity, but, after pressure washing out there, in real life, I stopped and began to wonder - From a game that's calling itself a "simulator", I take it strives to be like the real thing, right?

And I don't mean things like water supply, or having to haul the pressure washer around, those things I can see could keep the game from being fun and be a chore, but - Fluid dynamics.

In real life, when pressure washing, just passing the high pressure water stream over dirt doesn't "destroy" the dirt, it gets it off the surface, and absorbs it into the liquid, meaning you then have to mind where the dirty water goes.

If you tried pressure washing from bottom to top, you'd likely need a second pass just to get the dirty water stains off.

This made me wonder - is it somewhere in the plan to implement here, too? Right now, the pressure washer feels less like a pressure washer, and more like a... Laser gun, just evaporating the dirt.

I think having at least the option to toggle some sort of better liquid and dirt dynamic in the game would add just that last bit of realism into a simulator like this that it needs. Maybe like a difficulty option or something?

I know it'd most likely need major codebase and mechanic edit, and so I wouldn't expect to see it, like, in a month, but - Is that something the devs would be willing to implement, somewhere down the road at all?

And are there other people that think such feature would be neat, too, or am I the odd one out?

While I understand the idea behind this I want to give these questions to think about as these need to be addressed with the idea:
How would you clean the skate park with this as you have to clean the ground too?
How do you get the water out of the bowl?
How do you get the water away from the ground?
Delly....I get what you're saying, and agree, but it's only a game...

I played the free demo of car mechanic sim, I'm a mechanic, i don't have to tell you that even though you remove bolts and parts, doing the real thing is very very different.

The part that made laugh out loud is when you use wd40 or the like to loosen bolts, let me tell you, when you have a stubborn bolt it's time to get the blow torch....not always but still...

There are multiple options I see:
1 - Go back and modify the levels to add drains and sewage system that'd act as the outlet for the dirty water
2 - Make only some levels playable with this "enhanced mechanic" - Levels made with this idea in mind
3 - Use grass. I mean. It's still just water with dirt in it, you could just make it soak up into grassy surfaces acting as sponges for the liquids.

Now bowls, without any way of getting the water out, you could add a new tool to soak it up, or a tool for "detail cleaning" - Small area, manual, non-pressure-washable parts. As like in real life, you probably wouldn't take a high pressure washing machine and use it on any and all surfaces, indiscriminately.

i feel like this is kind of missing the point of "simulator" type games.
it's not meant to be an accurate representation, it's meant to be all the best parts of the thing made into a fun game.

best example is the games like Euro Truck or Farm Sim.

There comes a point where if you make a simulator too much of a simulator, it becomes less of a game. You have to keep the game fun, even at the expense of some realism.
