Getting headaches While playing
I play a lot of first person games and I don't get headaches when I play those, but for some reason when I play this game it gives me a migraine. Does anyone have any idea why this happens or what part of the game does this?

blink more ;) no seriously blink more. its the constant following of the end of the flow...
eyes tracking it back and forth up and down... staring... there are a few things you can do. one is an app called f.lux its slightly changes the color or brightness of your monitor.
the info with the app explains it better then i can here, like blue blocker glasses for your monitor basically. another thing is slowing your dpi of your mouse. as well as making sure your machine isnt causing some stutter or flicker, turning on the legacy water option may assist. i can run this game in its full available graphics shadows etc. but i dont go full max everything, rather i leave most default. it runs great and looks great and i can run it max if i really want to.

good luck!

low FOV does this

I agree with "blink more". My eyes were *wrecked* after playing this game. Something about pressure washing makes me get really focused on seeing what's happening every second. My wife was freaking out about how red my eyes were.

No complaints, though. I played so much and so hard because I loved it.

Hey OP, you are not alone. There are a couple of reasons for what you are experiencing. As DOS32 said, the low FOV is a big one; that is what bothers me the most.

The second issue is the sprayer being directly controlled by your mouse, which also controls where you are looking. For some reason this is a bit discombobulating/headache inducing to some players.

The third is apparently linked to refresh rate, I think? Maybe FPS? I don't know for sure but the devs have mentioned something along those lines as possibly contributing, if I am remembering correctly.

The really great news is that the devs are very responsive and are aware that some of us are unable to play as it stands now, so they are actively working to implement fixes.

I've had to stop playing completely and will have to just wait until the updates start rolling in, but I don't mind considering how well the devs have communicated with us regarding the issue.

EDIT -- here is what the dev, Josh Futurlab, said in another thread:

As mentioned in this thread we've got a couple of motion sickness aids in this coming update with a higher FPS cap (smoothing gameplay on higher refresh rate monitors.) Plus, making it so you can turn on the crosshair the whole time (currently it dissapears and can make motion more disconcerting without a fixed reference point on the screen.)

Planned in a future update is higher FOV (field of view) to help lower how pronounced the motion is too.

We're listening to feedback and will look into other tweaks/changes that could help with motion sickness. Sorry that you're running into this ATM.

Thanks a lot for the suggestions and advice! I'm glad the dev team is so responsive, and I look forward to playing this game with these adjustments made, 'cause I liked what I could play and I want more :)

If you are playing on higher refresh rates/hertz of the monitor where you get above 60 fps in other games, I guess in this game it is locked to 60 FPS at the moment but the developer said FPS will be lifted and can go up to 240 FPS.

You are not alone, when I play with 60 FPS cap it made me felt sick and gave me migraine headache for some reason. It just gross, and motion blur, ensure they are disabled in settings. Motion blur can cause headaches as well.

I don't get the headache myself, but breaks are important, when hyper focused my heart rate changes, and it feels like forgetting to breathe becomes a thing. Happens with intense fps matches too. So getting up to stretch every so often helps. Blinking sounds right too.

Yeah really disappointed, I feel sick after playing for just one hour. Still feeling sick 10 mins after stopping to play. It's got a really bad perspective or something. I play tons of first person games and have no problem. Somethings wrong here. Ick. Very ick.

FOV can be changed now btw.

I found out its more relaxing for the eyes if you are standing and pointing the brush in the farthest position, then start brushing and pull the brush towards to you. This is more relaxing for me, instead of pointing the brush at the closest position and then move it forward.
Kind of on the same line but I get cross-eyed lol Literally doesn't happen with any other game but I'm wondering if fatigue might factor? I don't know honestly. But the consistency is curious.

I had the same problem until I turned down the audio, it was the washer sound itself causing it
