Here's my two personal favorite fusions after about 70 hours of gameplay.
My first favorite is the Skeleton Cannoneer fused with Brownie Captain. You need to get the Skeleton Cannoneer from Erebyss at the Path of the Damned for 10 emblems.
Skeleton Cannoneer gives Cannon Shot - After this creature Attacks, it afflicts the target + two random enemies with Vulnerable. Vulnerable is a debuff that makes enemies take 50% more damage.
Brownie Captain gives Wallop - After this creature Attacks, it decreases the Defense of the target + 2 adjacent targets by 40%.
This fused monster will be useful for literally any party. I also have the Abundance spell equipped on him that will cast twice and has a 20% chance to cast each time he attacks, which helps stat-bolster my whole party.
Use a trait or relic to get this guy to attack multiple times and you'll find your enemies defenses simply won't matter one bit. He'll turn even the toughest creatures into swiss cheese. I use the Bow of Apocranox relic on him so he gets an extra attack, and he sits next to another ally that has the Goad trait which is yet another extra attack.
My second favorite fusion is a Lunar Hemomancer fused with Carver Sadist.
You get the Lunar Hemomancer from Mortem, God of Blood. 10 emblem cost.
Lunar Hemomancer gives Abation - After this creature Attacks, it steals 20% of the targets Attack & Intelligence and gives it to your creatures.
Carver Sadist gives Wild Stabs - When you Defend, creature attacks 3-5 times at 50% normal damage.
I made an Affliction spell gem that will cast twice and has a chance to cast upon an attack. That means he ends up debuffing the entire enemy party like crazy and gives all my guys a really nice attack + intelligence boost thanks to his Abate trait.
I named this creature "Hans Volter" in honor of the Killing Floor 2 boss. Looks a lot like him and basically behaves just like he did in KF2.
and absolution from the dryad vindicator - After an enemy is afflicted with a debuff they lose 15% attack and intelligence. This trait does not stack.
with one debuff a loop is created that stacks 15 random debuffs ( usually ends up with 9-12 due to silence and scourged over writing ) and both attack and intelligence reduced to minimum.
I pair those traits up with pus and pox from the leper blightbringer - At the start of each enemy's turn, this creature afflicts them with a random debuff. This trait does not stack.
This makes it so the debuffs and stats hit at the start of the enemy turn without having to do anything actively.
Best part is because of how the abilities interact if he gets hit and dies he attacks 4 times and can REZ himself, which then let's him hit 4 more times. With 4-8 hits he generally brings the entire team back to life. So if he doesn't single handedly kill all the enemies anyone else who died also gets to hit 4 times.
Slap the multi-hit relic on this bad boy!
Regalis / Sphinx Justicar / Sphinx Healer. Bonus: Ancient Spirit
Pit Guard or Apis Defender or Infernal Guard fused with The Lost.
Immortal King / Cosmic Giant / Zzyia Apocalipse
Mimic with Stomping Basilisk If this creature does not take damage from attacks or spells between each of its turns, this creature Seals all the enemies' Spell Gems,
casts Timewalk on itself as the first action, so it seals all enemy spell gems.
How does this work with overheal?
You literally just heal yourself constantly. The whole build I have with this fusion is just provoking with everything, and heal. I literally don't attack, or use spells that deal damage. Just Stat gain spells, healing spells, and resi spells when needed. Great times, when I found this. But soon hated how long battles would take, sometimes. Not because the enemy was dying slow, but because the battle doesn't just end when the enemy creatures are dead and have no way to revive. XD
@bearhiderug
I pretty much did that. A build where I only heal myself, and the enemy takes damage from it. I always imagined the enemy watching me heal, and be all like, "OMG, IT'S TO BRIGHT!" or something. It's hard to imagine an enemy watching me heal and taking damage. XD
The high heal might be because of my cleric perks and one of my other creatures has a double healing trait.
What I meant was, if you are at full health does the overheal cause damage. Since the trait you're describing deals 50% of amount healed does the game still deal this damage if you're at full health?
I was under the impression that overheal gives the benefit of oh-heal effects while at full health but it isn't clear whether or not you're still healing X amount because you're not actually healing any health.
Yes over heal triggers when you are at full health. What ever the heal number is, abnegation does 50% damage of that regardless if you are healed for that amount.
