Sitka deer Alaska species
There are 2 different Sitka deer species ingame. one from that east asian map and one from the Alaska map.
Both of them are Tier 5 but the while the one from east asia map has a Tier 5 energy like a white tail deer f.e., the one from Alaska does have exact the same energy rate like the lower roe deer in Tier 4 !

In this vid i shot a Alaska one at only 110m (cal270) with energy well above the needed and did´nt loose a star !

I changed the ammo to the lowest in power.
Did they program closed season ammo or is it only because the deer is classified in Tier 5 instead of Tier 4 ?

Perhaps i´ll go to Transylv map and hunt a roe deer at this distance with the same ammo....we´ll see what happen.

East Asian Map? Do you mean Matariki Park? That's New Zealand. They are not two subspecies of the same deer but rather two completely different species, sika deer (no T) and sitka deer (no T), so that's where the difference comes from.

" sika deer (no T) and sitka deer (no T)" should be " sika deer (no T) and sitka deer (with T)"
The point is there´s one Sitka deer (Alaska ) with exact the same hit energy like the roe deer .
But the roe deer is in Tier 4 while the Sitka is Tier 5 !

and @Mausi.... i didnt bought that map New Suckland :-)

You didn't look close enough; you are looking at the recommended hit energies and saying because they're the same, they should be the same tier -
however, look at the physical aspects:
Sitka deer males go to 200 pounds.
Roe deer males top out at 88 pounds.
Sitka females go up to 99.
Roe females go up to 88.

Sitkas are 2x larger, more robust and therefore in a higher tier than Roe.

than again with more than twice the weigh it should have be much higher neregy rat than the roe deer !!

here the roe deer with same ammo at nearly same distance loosing clearly a star.

you shot a tier 4 animal with a tier 5 rifle, of course you lose a star - wrong gun.
omg, did you see my first video ? The same gun/ammo at a animal with the same energy points and loosing no star because they set it in Tier 5.

No, omg, I had not seen the first video, which also supports my point; because in it, you used a tier 5 weapon on a tier 5 animal, five stars - use the wrong gun for a tiered animal, and you lose a star: 5 weapon on a 4 target. It's stated quite clearly and in many places that you should use the same tier-rated weapon as the tier-rated animal. You're getting all caught up in false similarities. The tiers are what matter, not the animal's specs or the gun's energies. It's a game. In the game, matched tiers are the best way to achieve a 5 star harvest.
so energy tables are useless because the game mechanics simply use Tier ratings...pretty cheap, lol

I did not say that, nor should you imply it. You are generalizing from an anecdotal case. The game mechanics, especially the ballistics, have received several major updates/adjustments, and nothing is ever perfect; some have said it's better, some said it's worse; there's always many ways to look at any issue.
So let me generalize: there are individual instances where the "system" doesn't quite seem accurate; they've adjusted many of the values in an attempt to have them all work with one formula for a shot solution. A technical calculation of your weapon/ammo/distance would have revealed an excess of impact energy, in both shots - although it was forgiven in the tier 5/tier 5 shot. There's other animals that could be adjusted; badgers and wild boars come to mind, but be careful about presenting a negative generalizing from one isolated instance.

I suspect that even if you shot a tier 5 rifle at a tier 4 target at a long enough range so that the energy impact was "in the green", you'd still get only 4 stars max for the hunt.
