That's handy.
Of course, not all rifles come with sights, and are meant to be used with a riflescope. If they do come with iron sights, then you can do without a scope for close range shooting. In fact, that is better than a scope, since you don't have to waste time getting a usable sight picture and get trampled by a very annoyed large game animal.

If the rifle comes with a Picatinny rail, then that is for scope mounting, and you have the option of easier detaching and mounting a different scope. Usually, rifles with the rail won't have traditional iron sights, but of course you can mount all sorts of optics on a rail.

If they don't have a rail mount for the optics, then usually the receiver top has been drilled and tapped to take scope ring mounts. These can also have iron sights built in.

Nice idea and good collection to compare. I'd almost forgotten about it. By the way, the open sights in WOTH are realised with great care and are much better than those of competitors. A big plus for WOTH.

Very nice to see this, thanks 6Taylor4.
I am a big fan of iron sights and will use your images for my further hunts.
As you say Victoria, some are not meant to be used without scope. Could we have a table based on your comment and 6Taylor4's images to classify this? (for the sake of community fun). I could do this myself, but have not come so far into the game yet as to have an overview of 'all' in-game weapons.
