I've not experienced it, and not seen a post of one, so I don't think they do.
In North America the last confirmed fatal attack was in Canada in 2005. Categorized as "exceedingly uncommon."

The only animals to attack me so far are female deer. :D

Hey, since it's unusual in real life, wolves don't attack you in Way of the Hunter.

Moose and brown bear/kodiaks Wii attack you.

I've even had moose charge at me after taking my shot, instead of running away. I usually manage to evade them so I don't know if they would have killed me. Same with bears. I had a big male suddenly running at me while I was calling in deer. I stepped behind a tree and it slowly stalked around as if trying to figure out if I was still there. I kept stepping in and out from the tree and finally it spooked.

I'm pretty sure if I hadn't evaded it would have killed me. There is an early black bear mission where a sick or wounded bear will kill you if you get too close. But that might be programmed that way for that specific mission.

Yeah Elks are real killers like those african buffalos. So it´s always good to have 12cal. shotgun with slug ammo as second weapon or using the tripod.

I was trapped on some rocks by several lions after missing a shot at one; two of them were very interested in me, and I waited and they went away. Then I tracked them down and culled one but this time they all ran away, so you never know. Lions and water buffalo are very aggressive. I think I've mentioned this before, but water buffalo are not the most dangerous animal in Africa, Hippos kill more people than any other animal, although some argue the mosquito kills more; David-and-Goliath thing there.
I think charging animals are here to stay.

Hmmm, I wonder if one could setup a tripod chair between the time of the shot and the time it takes the charging animal to close on you - if you could construct it fast enough, you'd have one frustrated animal to pick off. :steamhappy: I don't think it's possible.
And again, given the time it takes to swap weapons, locate the target, aim, and fire, the charging animal will be upon you. If you're not prepared to shoot a charging animal with your equipped weapon, there's simply not enough time to switch to your secondary during a charge.

Miriam thanks for the info, just wandering if I was just that lucky or just that good, LOL.

So, you can be charged:
by an animal out of nowhere
by an alerted animal
by a spooked animal
by a wounded animal
by the animal that just charged you and has turned and charged again

I don't think there's an official list of chargers;
Elk
Lion
Water Buffalo
African Badgers
various Deer
Bears
....? feel free to add - what's charged you, besides your credit card?

https://youtu.be/GyiyYY6uHI4?si=b5dbST7PuTNbsug2 I think I go over most of the stuff here. If not, then it's in a video shortly thereafter. The charging stuff all gets studied and sorted over time

Using the tripod means: you shoot when you´re sitting on it, so charging animals are no more trouble. Second weapon use is easily possible if the first shot range isn´t too short.:lunar2019wavingpig:

This is confusing; so you are not sating use the tripod in a charge, you're saying using one prevents it? Well, sittting up there, since you can't be charged, swapping weapons would be easier; I thought we were discussing charges. My bad.

No just a little misunderstanding:

To clarify, i use two diffrent tactics:

The use of tripod is the best way to not get charged, cause you´re out of sight for the animals and they can´t reach you. And it has also advantages not to spook the animals by sight, smell and sound.

The use of shotgun as second selfdefense gun is usefull if you hunt for those dangerous animals and they attack you after shooting one of them. The shotgun needs no precise aiming to drive them away. I always have one ready when wandering around on foot.
