Marking kill spots
Ok, I know that this may have been answered somewhere in the forum but I'm almost 70 so cut me a bit of slack. I seen a video on youtube recently of someone making a kill and then placing a red marker at the kill site while still looking through the scope. Try as I might I cannot get that to work for me, can someone please tell me how to do this. Apologies if this has been dealt with before but I can't find any reference to it. Cheers.

Hit X for a red marker and HOLD x for a blue marker when looking through the scope or Binos. I usually place a marker before making the shot.

The "X" key places a red marker where you are aiming and if you hold the key it puts a blue marker, useful for tracking. You can put as many blue markers as you want but only one red marker.

Cheers guys. Should have said I am on PC. Not sure what key is exchanged for "X". I assume it would be the "C" as that is the key for placing a marker on a certain area but when I try to do this it is not working. Again sorry for the confusion. Cheers

On map screen the red icon is from F key to mark and the blue icon is C that changes to the X key with using scope or binoculars.
So in the scope view you press X to mark where you aim at red but can only have one at a time.
Or in the scope you press and Hold X to mark it blue and you can have as many blue icons as your pc can handle.

You can also change the key: Settings, Keybinding, scroll down a bit in the "On Foot" section. It's one of only two settings that show a second line prefixed by "HOLD." If the x key isn't working for you, it's possible you inadvertently customized it?

I'm a big fan of using the long hold blue marker, as I find I mistakenly hit the x key pretty regularly which means I've then lost the original spot I marked. Since you can have many blue markers, you won't ever "lose" one with a mistaken key press. When you are done with a set, you can clear them all in map mode by mousing over any one, and pressing space (or whatever key/button is displayed in the context help). You can also clear then in first person, but it's more tedious (looking directly at a blue marker and long-pressing x will clear it).

that is for PC. the 'x' is between the 'z' and 'c' keys.

Thanks for the positive input. I now know how to make it work.
