Scope Advice
Hi y'all. Bought the Remington pack and ended up with some new rifles in my arsenal. Currently rocking a 30-06 and a Remington 700 7mm. My question is what scope should I buy that would service both rifles? Currently sitting on about 4k in funds.

Whichever rocks you.

Oh, you definitely want the Bushnell Elite Tactical Scope - 3.5-21x50, First Focal Plane, calibrated MRAD tactical reticle. Note, however, the the reticle scale resolution has been decreased by a factor of 4, so the 1 MIL hash mark is really 4 MILs in-game

Does this scope qualify as an all arounder, good for medium and long range?

@6taylor you must have missed the part where I only have 4k and can't afford to try them all:)

I wouldn't put it on a rim-fire rifle, but for the rest, yeah.
Actually, if you are using HunterSense, any scope will do.

The Bushnell Elite Tactical Scope - 3.5-21x50 has the "best view" with that wide, clear view. It has the longest adjustment, and for technical shooters, gives you a wealth of information and is best suited to tier 4-6 weapons. Shotguns never need them, although the improved sights are a good add-on. The smaller rifles don't need any more than 8X, as you won't be taking long shots with them.
For professional sighting, on the harder levels, Bushnell will give you all your data in the scope; for less technical hunting, use the Hunter Sense, zero your distance to the target, and use the green circle; no figuring, no calculations, zero, point and shoot. Yet the Bushnell still gives the best visuals.

Thank you for the info, that's very helpful.

Thanks I saved this link to a doc file so I can reference it back when I get some funds .. usually I have to hit stuff 5 times to drop it and with Pheasants I just blast them on the ground with my .243 cause I can't hit nutin with my shotgun so I end up getting very little financial return but I'm getting there ...

This game, when played well, will provide you with so much money you'll start complaining there's nothing left to buy. Missions completed are the most lucrative way to gain big cash. Culling young 1* males will eventually produce higher rated animals, which return more cash. Never kill a female, unless required; the more females in a herd, the better reproductive results,
Beyond simply hunting, there is another level to the game, of herd management; better perhaps to first improve your skills, acquire more perks, before getting into herd management.

I prefer the Overgaard Long Range 3-15 x 50

It is fine to say what you prefer; if you want to help others decide, don't you think saying WHY you prefer it would be helpful? Otherwise it's just a tick box statement. It has inferior magnification, compared to Bushnell.

I got the Bushnell Elite and am loving it so far. Thanks for the advice, everyone.

Same. I prefer the Overgaard scope because it's less cluttered and the lens has a certain tint that makes it easier for me to spot animals under low light conditions (your mileage on this may vary depending on your monitor).

OP didn't ask for reasons. He asked which scope we would recommend. But since you insist, I like the clean scope picture, the thick posts/thin crosshairs and how it frames the target so nicely. Magnification is not the be-all end-all in hunting scopes.

You're right he didn't ask; that doesn't negate the benefit of a reply with details.
This game unfortunately doesn't allow for side-by-side comparisons of recticles, which would be helpful. I agree with you that Overgaard is a "cleaner" recticle. In many other games you are able to swap out just the recticle, which would be a nice feature here as well. I have tried all the scopes, and once the Bushnell was in my gun case, I really haven't given the others much of a chance to impress me in a while. I think it would be fun to go back through them now, as it's been so long. Thanks.

QUESTION: Does OP stand for "original poster" or "other person"? or something else? I never really knew! Thanks!
