This is a meaningless question, my fellow hunter; you need to be specific about what map, what mission, and what you've tried.

Oops sorry I am doing the story so I am in Nez Perce I figured everyone starts there if they do the story and about the what 3rd or 4th mission its shoot ducks ...

I'm on Nez Perce I only have the base game that's it and doing the story and I got the email to shoot ducks because the duck livers now are better ... the internet reads ducks are at nez perce but I only see rivers and hills and at ponds nothing ..

Thanks for help I'm stopped at the story ...

Thanks for the link evidently I have to walk the river and stumble on some .. I did the story of shooting pheasants and there is a pheasant icon on the map same with the first mission annihilating badgers..

Maybe the ducks are crapping all over my clothes and I just don't realize it and I need to look up.

I just found this on the internet I was googling the wrong phrase I used

if ya type something else ya never find it ... just videos on people shooting ducks

if youre on the Nez map head to the swamps in the north

Duck hunting is actually hard but it’s duable. You got to check out the areas where the ducks spawn by the swamps north of the beginner shack. Look at map and find the icon of which duck you need to hunt, roam the area around it 600m all around finding all the spots they could be at, eating, drinking, resting etc. walk around those areas and use the duck call every 3 mins or so. Keep your eyes up in the sky because most likely that’s where they will be flying. Have binos ready to look at them and see if they’re the ducks you need. Good luck

Depends on which map you're on. Nez Perce - swamp on the northern border of the map. Tranyslvania - swamp on the southern border and lakes near Lempira's cabin. Aurora Shores and Matariki Park - eh.... good luck.


I love it when a game is complete and ya have to go to the forums and the internet to play it successfully I guess its my fault I should have just scouted the entire Nez Perce area until I stumbled upon them ..

For ducks, scaups and geese on Nez Perce, I usually just go to the swamp at the northern border of Kaniksu Shores. There's a campsite at the east end of that swamp. Go into the swamp and then keep going west, pausing every 50 m to listen for ducks. When you hear them, approach carefully, shoot.

Yeah going north is the key with this mission there is NO highlighted area so I was thinking I could find them near the Cabin this is at the beginning of the game THAT duck mission ..

I should have realized I had to travel way, way, way, north to the edge of the map to get a good duck area ... what was I thinking ... what a dufus ..

Anyway, I got my 3 ducks .. Quack, Quack .. close the post ...

at one point while in this northern swamp area a gaggle of ducks flew right at me from a ways off I thought it was a flock of geese. Then I heard quacking shot 4 times missed all of them .. Wheee

I shot about 52 rounds hunting and hunting got my 3 ducks .. now I have missions to also go after geese and some duck like bird too .. and then moose with open sights and some strange areas out in the woods but yeah ..

Close the post and thanks for the comments... I shot a black bear with a .308 got a lot of points for that .. shot another one 4 times with a .308 seemed like it was coming at me .. got hardly any points for it .. woo hoo
