Which map to start on?
Hello, i just bought the game and played Call of the Wild before.

Is there a specific map that you recommend to start out? Or shall i just pick the default one? Ive got the Elite Edition, so i have 2 more maps i think?

Yes Nez Perce, which is the OG reserve, and will unlock taxidermy. Not sure what happens with taxi if you start elsewhere?

So, start on Nez Perce, play through the Hollywood storyline and then jump around from reserve to reserve as it suits you.

Don't you even have to play through the starter missions to unlock other maps?

The DLC maps (Africa and Alaska) have a higher animal density. It's faster to find animals. Nez Pez is a middle ground. And Transylvania is the most difficult.

Additionally, much of the Transylvania map is forest, which makes hunting even more difficult. I would only recommend this map to those looking for a more harder experience.

Enjoy.

As above, there are a few tutorial missions that you`ll need to complete on the Nez Perce map, before it unlocks the others. From memory, one is shooting Hollywood, and a couple of Badgers, and then hitting some targets at the practice range near the lodge.

Might be a few more, not sure, but after that, it will tell you that you can now access the other 3 maps, and they`ll all be open to you on the main menu under select reserve.

Where to go, depends on how difficult you want things to be really, if you want wide open spaces and to shoot lots of animals, in order to get some cash, and work out shot placement and tracking etc, then the Africa map is the best place to start.

If you want a challenge, then drop into the Nez Perce, Transylvania, or Alaska maps, and you`ll find it much more dense, and have to work a bit harder.

Welcome aboard, and happy hunting !

there's a lot more im on the one to get mountain goat meat i don;t know how many more i have to do to get to the other maps.

As said by others, if you are on the goat meat mission, you should be able to access the new maps via main menu > story/free hunt.
If they show up as locked there, close the game, click on the game in your library and scroll down to "Manage my DLC" on the right. Make sure the DLCs are listed there. If not, something went wrong with your purchase and you need to contact Steam support. If they are listed but not ticked, tick them, then exit Steam completely and relaunch it. Check in-game again. If they are listed and ticked, untick them, exit Steam, relaunch it, tick them again, exit and relaunch, then go back in-game.
