2 Star Moose Mission
I tryed now for over 2 houres to find a 2 star moose for Matias Ruiz on the Hunter difficulty level to get the hunting permission.
I found 5 or 6 moose herds inside of both hunting areas where i am supposed to hunt the 2 star moose and none of them had a 2 star moose.

Do i have to manage the moose herds to get a 2 star moose or i am just very unlucky?

It;s been a long time since I did that mission. Yes, a 2 star moose is hard to come by in that area. I think what I did was chase a moose out of the private reserve and shot it where it was no longer protected.

I think I found some good ones along the river on the east side of the private reserve and chased them farther east. It's been so long I could be mistaken.

Well i tryed it again and walked equipped with my Remington 700 and the starter scope + Morning Silence 20ga (for driving mooses into the mission areas) down to the swamp right next to Ruiz hud.
Completely unexpected a herd with one 2 star moose at 6:10 in the morning crossed my way while walking from the east into the swamp and then the hunt begun which ended at 17:25, took me unfortunately 3 shots because i struggled to get closer than 200m and the herd was constantly moving, but the last 2 shots where taken from 100m, second in the left loung and third was a missed double loung shot which got stuck exactly between rips and guts.

Unfortunate that you needed 3 shots but, at least it sounds like you accomplished your goal. Great job. Cheers! :dwarven:

And it should also be possible to call them out of the private zones. If one is just over the border, you can call them in, and then backtrack, and keep calling. Once they pass over the zone, they should be good to harvest, and count towards the mission.
That would kind of depend on the fitness of the animal and whether or not you have the right level caller for it. But, yeah, it could work.

There's something I'm curious about. Let's say he asked us for a 2-star deer in the mission, but we found a 3-star deer and hunted it. Does it accept? So since 3 stars is a better level, does it cover all levels below it? Or should it be neither 1 star nor 3 stars, but entirely 2 stars? Likewise, if he wants a 4-star deer, he should accept it if I shoot it with a 5-star rating? Isn't this possible? Do you understand what I mean? I don't know English. Google Translate.

I believe it means 2 stars or better. It's been awhile since I played any story but, I think I recall exactly that happening. I could be wrong. Maybe one of the dev mods can step in and clarify that.

As said above, I`m pretty sure, the * rating for a mission animal, is just the minimum. So you can harvest anything over it, and it will count. But keep an eye on missions that specify a mature animal, as adults and young will not count for this.

For the 4* Brown Bear mission on the TV map. I finally came across one, in the North part of the map. He just walked up behind me, and stopped about 20m away, staring at me.

I checked through the binos, and saw he was a 4* and shot him. I then realised I`d been an idiot, as I could have let him live, to see if he made it to 5*, and then I could have completed the mission, AND put him out on display.

I believe that animals must be harvested with the exact number of stars required by the mission. For example, I had a mission "Are you the lumberjack?" The requirements were:

Harvest a wolf with a trophy rating of **
Harvest a wolf with a trophy rating of ***
Harvest a wolf with a trophy rating of ****

The first animal that I harvested was a 4* wolf, the other 2 didn't matter. I had to harvested a 3-star wolf and a 2-star wolf. And yes, you need to pay attention if the requirement says, young, adult or mature animal, if you don't respect this it won't matter.

The first time I found a 4-star wolf, I harvested it and the other two tasks of 2 and 3 stars didn't count. I had to harvest separately for it to count. If you go to the Haliwitch(Nez Perce Valley region), there are always 2 packs of wolves. Go there and if you don't find wolves with stars, you should wait and periodically visit the wolf packs.

Life Cycle for wolf

Cheers puiuz ! I understand what you meant now !

I did manage to find the 4* Wolf I needed to complete this mission, but I`m not allowed to say exactly where on the map I found him, as someone might want to kick my arse.

I only have 5* Wolves on Nez Perce, don`t have any trophies on Alaska, or Transylvania.

@heavensarewild this can help you, it is an interactive map with all the regions.
