Shotgun Ammo Type & Bird Hunting

It seemed to be red so buckshot ammo on the engraved 12ga SxS but i think its birdshot ammo since the demage on bigger animals than birds like badgers take 2 to 3 hits until they are deadly wounded, so any idea what type it is?

Next question would be how effective 16ga and 20ga for bird hunting would be, i heared 20ga is currently pretty much useless, i am thinking about buying a semi 20ga for duck hunting, is that a good idea?

All the shotguns use some sort of bird shot ammo. They are basically for birds only and not for other animals. I've heard that "The Most Interesting Man in the World" doesn't hunt birds too often. But, when he does, he chooses a 12 gauge.

Use the 12 ga. It is #3 bird shot. The 16 ga is #5 & the 20 ga is #7.5 bird shot. If you go to the in game encyclopedia & look at ammo, the info is there.
