Tripod question

How to use the damn thing? I watched youtube introduction video, i have dlc. I bought a tripod, equipped it as a tool yet have no idea how to set it up in a field. Could tripods use be locked on ranger dificulty like hunter sense is? imma lost

no. First you must own one; put it in an inventory slot; then in game select that slot with the key assigned to it; - NOTHING will happen, until you then in-game, select that key for the portable - nothing seems to happen - Now shoot! Yes press shoot. Portable will appear! move it around when green you can place it, if red, move around, and it cannot be placed near an animal - but, you can move with it so move away, then AIM. Silly huh?

Well, This step is the problem for me. I expect tripod to be used same as, say, binoculars. On the other hand I do play on ranger difficulty and the large part of game (hunter senses to be exact) is just disabled for me. I tried to start a new story on another map on lower difficulty, equip tripods and plant them just outside the lodge with the same failed result.
I have a faint of hope i can fix the issue by reseting controls during next launch. And if that wont work - I dont know.. New game maybe?

When you have the tripod available in your inventory it appears visually at the bottom right of the screen

I just noticed that my number of tripods is 10/10 even though I have a few already placed on cards

Go to the command key management and change to see

Yep. Changing controls from default breaks the tripod use.

Not on my machine, I have remapped all the keys, no problems. It deploys with the mouse.
