You need to actually play for X amount of time per in game day, otherwise skipping time wont age animals.
The amount of time is unknown, some say 5 mins is enough, others 15-20 mins.
I tend to hunt 13 hours a day in game so my animals age slowly. The maps are big enough to hunt many different areas though. If you are always hunting the same spots, it will seem like animals never really age. 3 in game days is a year, it can seem slow but I love that aspect of the game tbh.
What does that mean? So play for 20 minutes and then sleep?
I thought 3 days was 1 year. Then you would have to play the game 3x24 hours or not? In the example of a wolf, does that mean he would have to live 27 days in the game to be fully grown?
1 real minute is about 5 minutes in the game, which corresponds to 4.5 hours for a day in the game. Then 30 days in the game are 135 hours in real terms. Should I let the game run for 135 hours?
I believe so yes, animals do last a long time, that is why I try and hunt the whole of the map. Keeps things fresh and animals get a chance to age. If you focus on the same areas, in time most animals will all be similar age. By hunting all over the map, it gives more variety to the ageing of animals in the long run.
Like I said I think its 15 minutes to 1 hour in game during daylight hours. At night I think its shorter and 10 mins is 1 hour. Not sure on when the time changes but 07:00-19:00 would be my best guess.
You need to play X amount of mins real time for skipping time to advance a day in game. Many say a hour in game (15 real mins during daylight hours) is enough to be able to skip time and it advances.
Recently I have started documenting what day I am on all maps. I am now able to know on day 3 6 9 etc its the last day of the year. The following day I check up on animals I am watching grow. So far its working exactly as it should, granted I play full game days but many don't. They still say a hour in game time per day is enough.
Do you really need to know exactly how long you need to play? It was patched to stop people being able to advance time again and again to age animals very quick. It was seen as a exploit.
Just go , hunt have fun, and enjoy the accasional 5 star for what it should be, an exception and a nice surprise. There is always that influence you make in herd management but fun is what happens WHILE you manage the herd to try and get a nice trophy. If I am not enjoying the hunt that particular day and I find myself rushing, I try to stop and go to sleep, ... in real life ;)
I am more than happy that the community hasn´t found a way to "cheat" the engine.
i'm not sure but maybe the time counter add ; i.e. if you play 45 min be4 sleep it will pass a full year. soemone should test that
ok thx for the info :)
