i´m old, i take my cal.22lr and shoot them on the ground :-)
In NPV I have no issues going up close to them & shooting them in the air. Seems the callers there work good.
In Alaska/Africa it's the worse Bird hunting I've encountered in any hunting game. Feels to me anyeway that the callers don't work at all. So if I really need to shoot some, I'll use anything. From my bow/xbow to a .22CA.
On these maps they are pretty dumb & you can come up close so much to have a good shot at them on the ground.
Even if some maps are better than others for the Birds, I still don't like the way it's done.
I managed to get some birds down while flying. I think it just require some practice. The 12 gauge is pretty effective even if a bit far. The trick is to wait until you can understand the direction the bird is flying then take the shot.
