Tikamoon Story Mode
So, first off LOVE the new map, its great so far and a nice change of pace from the temperate forest type maps we have in the other three... however... the story mode.....

I get its intentional but every single character you speak to in the story (at least as far as I've seen) with the exception of the main character himself and his daughter are just the absolute worst people you could ever hope to deal with. I would literally refuse to work with anyone who spoke to me in the terms they did in real life regardless of professional relationship. I GET that they're MEANT to be a bunch of giant ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ entitled douche-canoes but why did you feel the need to make this our story mode devs?

The other story maps, and for the most part, all the story modes in, ahem, 'certain other hunting games' present nice, fairly relaxing, wholesome little wilderness adventure rather than have you essentialy babysitting the worst kind of garbage people imaginable. Honestly its kinda ruing my experience as I play hunting sims to have a nice relaxing virtual wilderness experience not to pretend to be a PA to horrible horrible people.

Serious if story mode doesn't end with Malachi snapping and shooting the lot of them this game loses all rights to call itself realistic....

Haha, could be an interesting twist, but the story doesn't end like that. Seriously though, I'm sorry to hear that the Tikamoon Plains story didn't quite do it for you. Hopefully, you're still finding enjoyment in the DLC map. Your honest feedback means a lot to us - thank you!

+1

Je suis du même avis concernant l'histoire.

I actually enjoyed it and found it pretty funny, but if they decided to drop the stories in future and focus on the sim/sandbox experience, that'd be fine with me too.

As far as missions/stories go, text based missions with mini stories like in theHunter Classic would be enough.

I hated how much of a doormat Malachi was.

Boss, "Don't report the crime."
Malachi, "OK Boss." Just lets the events play out like someone without an internal moral compass.

Lie for the guests? Sure lets tell a bunch of lies. No push back.

I hate having to play a character like that. Let alone have a bunch of dislikable NPCs that you have to listen to in unskippable dialogue. Ugh.

I wish the story mode was more hunting focused and less character focused. I want to hunt for good reasons, not to feed toxic egos. Maybe next map go for a little less of the Reality TV/Jersey Shore feeling?

edit, Science, how about science and herd management missions?

A mi me ha gustado la historia.

Está bien que sea opcional para que a la gente que no le gusta pueda ignorarla.

Laughed out loud at the Jersey Shore reference; I agree, let's hope they do not go down that road. :steamhappy::steamhappy:

Thanks for the feedback, honestly didnt expect a reply from the devs on this, Ive finnished the story now anwyay and it does end better but still kinda like having to deal with those 'people' in the first instance kinda made the experience less enjoyable than it would otherwise have been just exploring teh map (for the record I LOVED the story missions on the main game and the first DLC).

All that said the Africa reserve itself is fantastic and am very much enjoying it (more so now the douche brigade have buggered off and I can just explore in peace and do more chilled tasks! ;))

THIS. ALL of this! It honestly kinda spoiled it for me, I like having a story mode it makes for an interesting way to show you round the new map and give you some goals to achieve rather than just 'shoot everything' but there could have been so many more interesting angles to do with managing a hunting safari lodge than just dealing with constant toxic entitled Karens with a captial K :)

Ah well it is what it is, and its at least realtively short and the rest of the maps taks/jobs are the more standard text posted mini objectives to just do while hunting and the map itself is great!

For me, there was a long pause to consider the ethics, but the game insists you do what I consider unethical, lying, arranging for illegal shooting, etc. I'd rather hire out cheaper and work with better people, but there they were.
It was an interesting in-game moment , and did linger with me for a while with a small sense of regret - but it's just a game! So onward. I haven't finished with them yet, so we'll see if anything changes. :steamhappy:

This is a gripping storyline, and I need the next instalment, and what it means for all the characters in the game ! Hope they`ve got something special coming for the next map !
10 TO 1 They don't switch horses midstream. :EricB:

Just finished this map story, I found it very enjoyable, just too short.
Much better compared to the main map & story imho.
Are all the other DLCs that short as well ?

From memory they are about the same length. To me, they are a method of getting you around the map, and maybe getting a bit of bling along the way.
When the first phone calls came in from the pompous women, I finished the story. I want to relax and not be stressed by aggressive characters. The whole nature of the story was a mistake. I have said my opinion on this several times. The story and characters are a permanent handicap to the game. ,-)

True that many missions are more about getting to some places than hunting though.
What about the story at Lintukoto ?

I haven't tried it, because no story would have particularly appealed to me or been beautiful in any way before. But I don't find the map particularly interesting, too.
