It's a bit of a hit and miss.
This. Exactly the same for me. Play Hunter and disable everything but the animal identification. Personally I keep the energy display, small game shafts and bloodtrails too.
Now play hunter and use the sense for sound cues (distance sounds the same to me) and animal identification. I find it hard to believe someone could look at a herd of 12 mountain goats and actually know what there looking at. Some animals are fairly easy to tell but there are also species that I personally don't see much difference.
yes, animal senses are the same in Hunter and Ranger difficulty. There was a bug in the difficulty descriptions that gave the wrong impression of them being different, but that was fixed recently. The only differences between Hunter and Ranger are:
- In Hunter difficulty, small game bodies get highlighted by a glowing column after death.
- Hunter Sense is completely off in Ranger.
- Photo mode range is reduced in Ranger.
Thanks.
