Hunting dog

Is there any news if and when we will get hunting dogs?! I mean the game is now already a little moment on the market

The game has not been out a year yet. It took COTW almost 4 years to introduce dogs but as things stand dogs are not on the WOTH immediate road-map. From discussions on the official discord it seems unlikely at this stage.

I can only conclude the devs are Cat people, and not Dog lovers.

The absence of any Cat like species on the existing maps, is surely proof of this.

Mountain Lions, Puma`s, Bobcats etc, all safe and well, and no need to fear us hunters.

Not sure what family the fox is, but they`re everywhere, so probably Cat.

I expect Lions to have armour, Bat like hearing, Cheetah like speed, and prove impossible to shoot.

It obviously looks as if you either don't want to earn this money or are simply incapable of implementing it.

Whatever it may be in the end, you just don't have to understand it. It was/is in Cotw one of the most successful/popular DLC's ever.

For me, the matter is clear: I won't touch the game again until there's one one fine day.

It has now been clearly stated that there is no intention of bringing a dog at the moment. As nice as a dog would be for one or the other. TheHunter took many years to get a dog and COTW also took many years to get a dog. For me it is not the main issue at the moment either.

I mean...the highest difficulty I've played on is Hunter, but I have disabled blood trail ID and I turn off Hunter Sense while tracking a blood trail, and...it's usually pretty easy. Each blood splatter is more or less a directional pointer to the next, and they are typically between 6 and 10 slow-walking steps apart (unless you hit a major artery, in which case they are more frequent and it's even easier). If you mark each splatter with a blue marker, then you can backtrack as needed and scan again. The only time it gets challenging is on red vegetation and/or at night time (Update: haha, OMG I just realised I have been forgetting about the head lamp!) but it is extraordinarily rare that I feel I must turn on Hunter Sense so as not to waste the animal.

If a dog is to be added, then I also would prefer doing so in the context of flushing birds into the air over tracking.

Dogs would be so cool. I would love to have a German shorthaired pointer for tracking deer and a Labrador for retrieving small game,like rabbits, I'd name the Lab Roger and the GSP Henry.
